Insurance Quotes (vRS TSi)

Featured Replies

L&G.

I'm just doing the annual chore of getting insurance quotes for my vRS TSi and my current insurer Aviva last year is quoting me £334 with PNCD, Euro/Legal cover & Guaranteed Hire Car of similar size.

I've got quite a few quotes in:

Hastings Premier £213 - But I've heard bad things about them, including a £12.50 call centre charge!  :o

Swinton - £279 - But can't do anything as their stupid website says I'm outside the UK!  :giggle:

Direct Line/Privilege - £339 for broadly the same as Aviva.

I'm 48, live out in the Surrey hills and have no pts or claims in the last 5 years, no convictions at all.

Just to test the water so to speak, what quotes are you folk getting for a 2013 vRS TSi, if you don't mind me asking?

My cheapest quote on my 2014 vrs tsi estate was £272 with 3 points declared and no claims im 34. Allianz have been my cheapest this year they were also cheapest last year too

My price is approx. £190 with 10 NCB age 44, 2014 2.0 TSI VRS. My provider is Hastings direct.... I've been with them 2 years now, no issues with any additional costs including call centre charge you detail.

I hear of a lot of horror stories about swinton. Cancelling policies without telling customers. For comparison my 15 plate vrs TDI estate with pncd and for a 35 yr old owner is 240 ish for the year with admiral

I'm getting jealous of all these quotes. I need to move house.

My cheapest is £570 on a TDi vRS. I suppose living in Manchester will do that to your premiums!!

Im somewhere near £350 (2014 tdi, brand new), with Zurich, who Ive been with for years and never ever had a problem with them in three third party crashes, including the last one, a write off. I don't care what the others quote, Zurich have always looked after me, a true case of you get what you pay for.... Also I received no loading for business use in addition to S.D&P...... Just my two penneth for Zurich..

28 6 yr no claims 0 points and 2014 octy vrs estate cheapest 450

Me, 28, 9 years NCB, around 16K per year (including business use) I paid £270. Then £40 cash back. That's Direct Line. Keep Quidco and the like in mind for cash back. And if you don't have an account, get one.

Just about to renew mine, VRS TSi. Gocompare shows anything from £170 to well over £500 depending on the 'extras'. Currently with Skoda Insurance (Allianz) which was £240ish last year with 10+ yrs NCB. I'm 61 and live in Edinburgh so it's not the cheapest post code.

I have a 13 plate TDi vRS with all factory options declared. 34, 13 years PNCD, parked on driveway. First at fault accident in Jan this year in the wife's car (£5.5k claim)

Admiral charging £320. Admiral are cheap however they do not use genuine parts on cars over 3years old.

I got my renewal through today.

2015 TDi vRS standard as they come apart from Amundsen nav.

Fully comp 37yr old 2yrs ncd. £524

Mmm, cheers folks.

It seems that the £300 is about the right price, I've got one at £275 from Lloyds Bank, which is around about £40 cheaper than Aviva, but includes key cover, but only provides a 1 ltr car should the worst come to the worst.

Might be worth a phone call to Aviva to see if they can sling in the Euro cover for nowt and then I'll stay put. I mean I go to France & Belgium just 4 times a year so it may be better to pay for Euro cover separately on an ad-hoc basis.

Try LV. I have found them great over the past few years. My last renewal was around £280 with European cover.

Tried them they came in as one of the most expensive at near £400! Unless I want a £500 excess.   :o

God knows what planet they're living on, it's not as if I live in Moss Side in Manchester or somewhere where the car crime rate is high, I live near the end of a country lane at the back of a village in Surrey! I live near the Silent Pool just off the A25!

I think that who ever does their brokerage, needs seeing to!

E-Sure (5* insurance rated), £174 inc protected ncb plus £30 legal expenses cover, 2015 Tsi VRS new for old policy for the first 12 months from the car being registered, £100 excess.

Compare the market.

Mine is about £650-700ish depending on company.

With Mods and provisional driver on policy.

£330 LV. Tsi Vrs estate 61yrs full ncd.

Once had a no fault claim mk2 L&K with Esure. 11mth old. Were going fit a new shell, tail gate, rear doors, bonnet, front wing as it didn't meet the required % cost. I said I'll call my GAP cover people. They changed their mind and I got a new car without having to call GAP. Just the thought of haggling with them must have put them off.

In the end I stayed with Aviva and it cost £314 (£319 with CC) but it included full EU cover and breakdown, for an increase of £10 which over a year is nothing really, it was the best way to go.

We'll see what happens next year when I change the car in November (months into the policy).

I concurr about avoiding swinton (they're a broker rather than an actual underwriter though). Id rather stick pins in my eyes than go back to them.

I'm with aviva and fully comp protected ncd is about 240 on a 2015 tsi vrs. Theyre not the cheapest I can get but their customer service is good and I've been through the claims process in a non fault accident and they're pretty good.
