My Car was supposedly built 2 weeks ago and has been sat at Emden for the last 10 days.

Well you might as well hold the boat for mine too!

Dealer contact for me today to re-affirm week 47 build (next week). Interestingly they advised 72 hrs for build, and car still on track for delivery at end of month?! Can't see that happening myself but at least we're heading in the right direction unlike poor Thewinelake - feel for you buddy. Time to throw the toys out of the pram and test the rumoured ability for problem orders to be expedited on request...

I can't really say what has happened with my order as I don't know who reads these forums but let's just say my toys are so far out of the pram with all parties involved it bloody better make me get back up the list as one of the parties whoever it ends up being are so full of s### it's unreal!

I thought the same when I posted about my pending disaster. I suspect dealers are probably sniffing around the forums and it wouldn't be hard to put 2 and 2 to get 4.

Needless to say when I asked about what they would do to help me as my current pcp ends in Feb and was told in a round about way, tough.

Just had confirmation of delivery of petrol blue se l 190 tdi for next Tuesday 17th November. Ordered early August at dealer through company, so about 15 weeks. Though there was a slight delay getting paperwork signed for the finance by company, so more like 14 weeks.

Leaseplan have told me to expect delivery (to me) on 1st December, although it had the caveat that the date could be wrong.............

Ordered SE Business on 19 October, current build week = 4

had confirmation mine is "In transit from factory" after being built last week, fingers crossed ill have it before the end of the month    :p

I have a 2.0 Tsi on order from a main dealer (Build week 52)

I've been closely watching the emissions/mpg situation develop.

I was quite relaxed, thinking it was just the dirty diesels that were effected.

Now it looks like the 1.4 petrol is also involved.

How long before the 2.0 petrol...?

Thinking of cancelling my order...though I don't know how that will impact on the return of my £1,500.00 deposit.

What a nightmare.

If the car is effected by the emission scandal then you should get the deposit back. If not you would probably lose the deposit. Not sure if it is worth moving to the dirty diesels or not at the moment. All extra tax will be paid by vw as long as they don't mess with the performance I think i will stick with my 1.4 act, but if performance is changed it will be a change of engine or completely different car. Eagerly awaiting for confirmation of the situation not a great way to buy your first new car ever. But I still think pound for pound it's the best car on the market in this sector, it's how much crap I will take before I start to look at other cars that might cost more or are not quite as good. So confused and disappointed. Vw have let us all down.

How long before confirmed build week is it that the build week is confirmed?

My unconfirmed build week was wk6, then last week it was 9 and now it's 11. I think I may have to cancel. What a spectacular waste of time!!!

Unconfirmed build weeks can go up and down all the time, it maybe 11 now but it could be back to 6 again next week. If you have spec'd something that is currently supply constrained it will cause the BW to slip but it can return to the original one once parts become available again.

It makes me laugh when people still refer to the newer (EU6) diesels as ‘dirty diesel’, then buy a petrol car, currently (until petrol cars are fitted with a GPF... their version of a DPF) they emit much more carcinogenic fumes than a car fitted with a DPF.

NO vehicle is pollutant free even the EV, look into how the electricity and batteries are produced.

The trick is to buy one that suits the driving YOU do.... then get off the holier than thou soap box, as no matter what you choose your choice isn’t perfect either.

I'll consider myself `told off` then.

Gizmo you get my vote for the best post on this forum. Well said. I'm looking forward to my 190 TDI sometime in Jan. Build week 51.

Do you believe that to be the case even though the car is not built yet?

At the moment it is all speculation to how this will effect the car so i would say you will lose all the deposit.

Once the facts become clear then if there is a big difference to what you ordered then you should get the lot back.

VW have already said they will pay the difference in the RFL for the life of the car, so the only thing missing is any potential MPG losses.

I honestly believe that they are all at it not just VW, so look for the car you want and that ticks all YOUR boxes and stop worrying about it.

Fair point, but I'm no longer sure what I AM getting! ;-)

When asked about getting my deposit back the stealer told me no problem until it goes into production. So I have another 18 weeks to think about cancelling.

Thank you.

...I would have thought that MPG losses would be outweighed by lack of performance issues

Lack of performance is what concerns me too. After all, that's why I'm changing to the Superb from my current car!

Just heard mine is due at the dealers on Wednesday.

Probably get it delivered the following Friday (27th) which makes it 11 ½ weeks from order.

Well emailed skoda uk about a few things such as build week for mine and emissions mine is still status 0 have SLI number now, but they could not say if my superb would be affected by emissions until they have a vin number, which I am abit concerned about.
