Nope can't do it online. It's on a cert in my wife's name as last came off her car. Had to add vwfs as the nominee as its a lease car, then they have to send it to DVLA to be put on the new car. Apparently they can't do it online as they are not the nominee on the dvlas records, only written on the cert and signed by my wife. Make sense? Al reliant on how quick DVLA turn it round.

That sounds like a real pain and will probably take the 3-weeks that you have been quoted, you could take it on a current registration and do the transfer at a later date.

From what you are describing that will technically make VWFS the "owner" of that registration by doing that, do you have an agreement in writing that they will transfer it back to you when their interest in it has ended?

The registration 'belongs' to the 'Grantee' (Bugginbob), the 'Nominee' in this scenario will be VWFS who will have no claim on the registration number.

They want £100 admin fee to do the transfer at a later date, gets waived if done at the start. Have it in writing that they'll add me as the nominee at the end and have no interest in the plate.

Hopefully these give you some idea......

Love the beige interior. Not an option with a business, sadly - even though the brochures give an inconsistent impression....

Re the private plate I gave up on this as was advised it's also an admin fee to remove the plate at a later date so seemed quite expensive to me. Plus the delay to the car pick up, collecting mine Saturday mid morning going to be a long few days, first new car i've had so looking forward to it.

First new car for me too. Still waiting to hear if I can pick.up car this weekend or next.

Yep I thought the same but then remembered my personal plate has been on three of my wife's cars and only on one of mine. So thought s*d it I'll pay the admin fee at the end.

Having completed all the paperwork, and paid the initial rental, I've just been told that the car isat the exit port, so should be here in a couple of weeks.

I was under the impression that registration could only be done once the car was in the UK, so thought it would be sooner. Not too concerned, just a little frustrated over how long it's taking.

Once the dealer has all the information eg model, VIN number, engine number etc I would have thought it could be done. They will receive all this information electronically from the factory.

Just been to sign all the paperwork, car will be at the dealers early next week and ready to pick up on Thursday exactly ten weeks from ordering.

Putting my personal plate on the car, which was on retention, seems to have been no problem.

Car still at Sheerness, been there for nearly a week Grrrr. I guess they are busy but it would be nice to get my car.

Mine is still at Sheerness but is due to be transported to the showroom by Tuesday, maybe your's will be on the same truck Simon.

Hope so Phil as I wanted to collect on Tuesday

Which week did you order?, mine was week 39, but the dealer said that they were expecting another Superb with mine that was ordered a week later in 40!

I placed the order in week 38, is yours going to Oxford?

No going to Tunbridge Wells

hi is it possible to track the car from factory?

Evening all. First post after ordering my first ever brand new car. Only ever had older second hand ones before so to say this is going to be a long 12 weeks is an understatement. 1.4Tsi SEL Excec in quartz grey. I prefered the white but SWMBO won. Read through this forum before ordering which was great ammunition for discounts and also telling dealer if he wanted my deposit I wouldn't be leaving until I had SIL order number so there was no chance of dealer delaying the order.

Let hope your order will be only 12 weeks, I've ordered the same car in a different colour, and I've been waiting 10 weeks so far and the build week is currently week 4 next year unconfirmed so it might slip even more. I hope this isn't the case for you but, just I bit of a warning it might be a longer wait than you think. But it will be worth it.

Hi  -  I ordered  a 1.4 SE DSG  in Quartz Grey with privacy glass, boot nets and mats and choose the zeus alloys,  all of which I hope aren't too off the standard build to cause delays.  I ordered on 7th Nov   and have been told build date of 14 Dec by dealer with delivery mid to end January 2016.  I thought that was bad enough as never ordered a new car before so assumed they were stock piled waiting to be delivered.  If I'd gone for a Ford Mondeo or Vauxhall Insignia, Passat etc  do you think the same wait times would be in place or is it just a Skoda thing.  Have to say think the Superb is a beautiful looking car and can't wait to get my hands on it so think would rather wait then get a Ford or Vauxhall sooner,  but even after 3 weeks waiting I am chomping at the bit with frustration.

I don't think manufacturers just build cars for stock anymore, they are all built to order, so I guess there is a similar wait for others. I have been told that if you order any Mercedes today the chances of getting it in 9 months from now is very slim!

btw I ordered a lot of extras on mine, twelve altogether, and the car was done in ten weeks.

You may have fallen lucky with a dealer that has some orders already in the system that they can change to suit you. anyway great news that there seems to be more of the 1.4 getting into the wild now looking forward to your review when you get it,

I do share your frustration this is my first new car purchase and the comm's from my dealership have been really bad, I have been checking with Skoda UK customer services myself to get the info of where the car is up to.

I just keep telling myself the wait will be worth it in the end.

Hopefully I've done away with all the heartache regarding when is it coming, I've asked for a March 16 delivery, so fingers crossed.

Just heard from the dealer...

Build week for my SEL Exec 1.4TSI DSG that was ordered on 1 October has been confirmed at Week 50 (so 7 December) - wont be taking delivery till March time though for the new plate and to save up a bit more dosh in time to collect!

Now, the juicy bit, apparently on 19 November, another mailshot came round to dealerships from the mothership of VAG stating that the 1.4TSI ACT engines are NOT EFFECTED by any errors in MPG or emissions. Apparently, they are all clear!

Anybody heard the same?
