Man, i would be pumped if i had his lead time. Ordered Jan 3 and got unconfirmed week 26 build : /

​Two friends of ours decided to change their car & opted for a Hyundi . Visit to dealer they spected some extras & color . dealer looked at whats in stock/ available-- found right car ,right colour with most of the requested items fitted. Not to worry dealer said can fit them. so 3 weeks later they are driving a new car, us ? 18 weeks on still waiting....................

 

P.S. - however good the car is i will do my best to put people off after this !

as Skoda buyers we are not alone -many makes - particularly European don't keep stock, and build to suit the manufacturing process and not the customer which is completely wrong - surely they can build at a price but keep customers happy - gripe out of the way. I was offered a Superb with a similar spec - but wrong colour and wrong interior. It's a crap customer experience but when the majority of manufacturers are following customers won't be able to change it as we all need cars, it will need a manufacturer to change the way they build and a model which doesn't penalise garages for keeping stock before it changes - until then I hate them all (almost as bad as bankers - oops!)

Ask NCD to contact the dealer they ordered through to confirm the build week and the order no., once you have the order no. you can contact Skoda UK for updates and you can also get confirmation of when the order was processed.

When I ordered my car, brokers were quoting 20 plus weeks as they have agreed discounts with their dealers hence filling up their build slots leading to longer lead times for delivery. I then spoke to my local dealer and they were quoting around 12 week lead times. I used the broker costs to negotiate with the dealer.

I hope the above helps in some way but definitely push for your dealer order no.

We are now 18 weeks since ordering & still waiting --- the record as far as i know is 27 weeks.......................

Call Skoda UK customer service on 03330 037 504, give them your details and they should be able to find your order and give you all the info, worth a call. The Skoda system updates on a Wednesday morning, my dealership has called weekly or every couple of weeks with updates or just to let me know that it has still been on track for build week 15.

I had a phone call from my dealer early this morning informing me that my Superb has now been built and has an SLi Physical Status Code of 30 (In transit from factory).  I'm rather hoping it will be in my possession before 11th May for on that date I depart on a trip to Champagne & the Loire Valley, via Belgium, to source Champagne & wine for my daughter's wedding in June.  I'm looking forward to a bit more luxury than my otherwise excellent Octavia III Elegance Estate 2.0 TDI CR 150PS DPF MY14 provides.  I wonder if I will take delivery of my Superb in time?  It looks like being touch & go.

 

In the event of disappointment, my trusty Octavia estate will do the job almost as well, for a couple of years back we went on a similar run for my son's wedding.  We came back with over 100 bottles of Champagne & wine which the car swallowed up with ease and coped admirably with the return journey.

Call received from my dealer this afternoon to say my car is at the German port. I didn't take the call so I rang Škoda UK Customer Services and requested the current SLi physical status code. Was advised on second time of asking that it is 38 (Vehicle in port of exit. Released to shipping). It was confirmed that the port is Emden and I was advised my car arrived there last Thursday and it can take 7-10 days to ship.

Sure enough mine has arrived today after ordering it at the end of February - Estate in Quartz Grey 2.0tdi DSG SE L Exec

NCD do seem very evasive regarding their supplier/ dealer, which to me seems a bit pointless as, as and when I get my car (2020!!) its name will be on the paperwork/ numberplate etc!

Not particularly worried how long it takes (though sooner would be nice) as it will just be my occasional "weekend" car. 

Just got a confirmed build week 21!

SEL Exec 150 6 Sp Hatch in Candy White with Pegasus and rear wiper delivered today, 10 weeks exactly from order to delivery. It was built in week 13, this week is week 15......some sort of record!?

It's a Petrol Blue 2.0 SE Business DSG estate, with a spare wheel (that's all). Just done a few miles and seems decent. Particularly like the gearbox; very smooth.

I'll be sure to report back when I've had a good play around with it.

I ordered my L&K 190 DSG in Black, with black interior today with the company's leasing company and was told by an (unconnected to this process) dealer that they've had a memo saying that there is a delay on black leather L&Ks so it's a minimum of 20-22 weeks delivery. Not sure how accurate this is but I'm gutted....

Dealer emailed to stay being built in about a fortnight. I'm guessing I'll get it end of May by the time I get it.

I really don't know what's going on. I changed from brown leather to black and it brought the build date forward by 7 weeks. But I've seen people in this thread who ordered an L&K at the same time as me, with the same engine, and their cars are already built and they are collecting next week!
