What did you do to your bike today?

Featured Replies

Problem for me was finding somewhere to put it where it wouldn't stand out like a racing dog's nuts!  We have a huge garden and you would think it would be easy to find a corner for the bike but it isn't.

We have solved the problem but not cheaply.  We have an enormous drive and it is gravel which we keep dragging into the house on the bottom of our shoes.  So we decided we would pave part of it. The guy who has done work for us in the past told us he could block pave it for about the same for not much more than paving so that is what we have gone for.  It will tidy that area up and means it is easier to turn the bike as well.

I will put some before and after piccies up.

We only just managed to squeeze the truck through the gates today, couple of inches was all we had. Annoyingly he dropped a very wet mix in which took forever to get the water off the top but ended up with a great finish. Bit of light rain now which actually has put a really nice stippled finish on it. Can't wait to get the shed up now, the size looks properly big.

  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

  • Finished! That's 2016 done.

Sounds brilliant! Nout like abit of digging is there. Makes you feel good haha.

Things are good mate. Your things?

Sounds brilliant that! Proper mancave. Always turns hugely strong though doesnt it, home made cider. You might not make it back out again on your feet? Hahaa.

Atleast youll have the k13 to perve on whilst youre in there! :)

Yeah you're right mate. Aching a bit but very pleased with the results. Was quoted 3 grand by 1 builder. Cost me £800 all in.

All good mate, dogs settling down which is great.

The cider is not far off bottling bring it on.

Lol slump in the sofa and perverse at a bike ? Rude not too.

Went for a ride in the Autumn sun. Fantastic countryside views. Called in at the Laverda Jota premises. They now share with an official MV Augusta dealer. Now they are gorgeous looking machines..................! Would I? Would you?

Lovely arent they!

I would!

But ive heard a few reliability issues recently?

Ah well worth a few aches to save £2200 eh. You can get alot of cider for that haha.

Glad to hear the dog is happier. Im sure he'll join you in the mancave!

Might not have a choice but to slump eh haha. Ive had home made cider before.. I was smashed. It was brilliant!

You having electric in this shed too then mate? Get a radiator in there?

We've insulated our shed with kingspan (only the thin stuff) and ply lined it out. But i cant get in it anyway. Too many bikes lol.

Extremely pretty but it did feel like I was perched over the front wheel.

Reliability.......the dealer kept telling me they had resolved that issue.

I could! It is one of those machines you would park up and then keep turning round to admire it.

If I was younger it might even prove to be a crumpet puller too!

Arent they just. That back wheel set up is quite something isnt it? Work of art!

Hmm. Id be scouring the net before i commited i think, but they arent bad priced either i didnt think.

Ive got a dealer about 7 miles away, which is the closest bike dealer of any kind for miles around tbh. Hes only just opened, but i hope it works out.

It is! Never pulled anythin on a bike yet though. Sadly. :(. Biker chicks though... Hmmm. Yum.

Pulled it to bits to fit an HID kit.

Lessons learnt... There isn't much space to fit the associated bits.

It's very easy to drop the burner shield into the headlight, don't ask!

There are lots of fiendish sharp bits on the bike that make fingers bleed. :(

The panels on a NC700 are a Bugger to get back on!

Not a HID kit in a reflector light, surely? ;)

Would this be a proper HID kit with correctly focused projector headlamp, self leveller and washer or one of those spray-loads-of-light-everywhere bulb replacements that will make everyone you pass on the road want to hunt you down and kill you?

Some reflectors do cope with it better than others.

I put them in the twin headlights of my old SV and it didnt work so well, (h4 hids are a waste of time) but ive seen bikes with them in that dont dazzle much at all.

Yup

Nope, it's a proper kit, with the correct burner. It has shielding around the forward facing end, and down one side.

It gives a beam pattern on dip which is exactly the same as the OE bulb.

The high beam appears to be the same too.

Difficult to tell until I've ridden it.

I would not fit HID unless it did as those chavvy kits get on my tits.

Not sure how it will perform on the road, but Ives much more light than the halogen bulb.

It's going to get a test tomorrow.

OK, I'll put away the hunting rifle...for now ;-)

Happy days (:

Has your bike got a seperate high beam set up? Ie, not h4?

Nah, just H4 so I only needed 1 kit.

God knows where I would have put the second lot of gubbins!

Just about managed to get in what I have.

How do you find the high beam?

The h4 hids i had in the SV left me with virtually no high beam :(. Dip was bright though lol.

Well here's the shed base drying out. Gives you an idea of scale next to the vito.post-107871-0-31616800-1445096504_thumb.jpg

Exciting times! Itll be grrreeatt!

You know it mate, like a kid over the next 2 weeks. Got to order some decent shelving and have a think about flooring, get the electrics installed and we're good to go.

Can I ask what kit you bought. My bike has twin H4 lights.

Been out on the bike today, rode down to Loomies cafe near Alton.

Good sausage and bacon bap, mug of tea and a whole load of bikes, all shapes and sizes.

Well I can definitely say the dip beam has the same beam pattern as a halogen H4 only much brighter and well defined.

According to my mate, in front, it looks like It should. No extraneous light, so I'm happy with that.

High beam is just as bright but not sure if it is better in terms of how the beam is directed, as it wasn't dark enough to tell.

Glad to hear it. Sounds good (:

Bacon bap.. Hmm. Always got time for that! (:

Or cake! :D

I promised pictures of the birth of the new Tiger Headquarters and here they are.  Had to chop down some serious foliage first and then yesterday the man with the digger turned up and got digging.  Says he will be finished on Thursday with the concrete base down and all the block paving.  Just hope the rain tomorrow doesn't slow him down too much.
