What did you do to your bike today?

Agh, understand. Seems I would need to renegotiate to ensure they are part of the deal.

  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

Beautiful, arcing third gear power wheelie out of a roundabout.

Actually, I've mainly been riding my bike in a manner that gets bikers a bad name. The wheelie was a bit of a surprise, especially as I'd changed up from second precisely so it wouldn't do it.

Must use fourth next time.

Nah

Ordered a belt drive.

Ah! Yeah it would be fun! Only if theyve sorted that clunky gearbox though :D.

Dad test rose the watercooled GS. Said it is quite abit quicker than his Twincam. But he still doesnt wanna trade his GSA in for one

Oil change and filter change, replaced front brake pads , fitted new x treme did chain and sprockets, and tyres to original 1999 hayabusa, dealers wanted 180 plus for chain kit plus 80 pounds to fit , cost 138 lol, now time to play.

You can tell everyone's getting ready for the warmer weather now.

Just thinking the same thing mate!

I hate being bikeless :D

It's either a clunky gearbox or a solidly built gearbox.

I've had several BMWs over the years, all have had solidly built gearboxes. None have been problematic.

Interestingly, I've found the quickshifter makes the gearbox remarkably smooth; the bike changes gear far better than I can

I dno. My dad hated it though.

Hes had loads of bmw's too, r100s, r1100rs, r1150Gs, r1200gs etc etc, it goes on. Got an R45 and a 12 plate r1200GSA (twin cam one) at the moment. Said the clunk into first gear was like nothing else he'd had.

Took it back to the dealers, said to the guy there that he'd be tempted if it wasnt for the nasty gearbox. The salesman just nodded and agreed, said quite a few have brought it back saying the same.

The quickshifter isnt a fix as such, its just a cover up.

Was it the R1200R box he hated or the RnineT box?

No hopes up just yet mate.

Ive been to many bikes that are 'immaculate' and infact arent.

Wouldnt be bringing it back tomorrow anyway, if i did want it. Needs a private reg taking off, new rear tyre fitting and a fresh mot

Never mind excuses Oli, have you got pockets full of cash ?

Fingers crossed it's a cracker mate.

I shall be out for a blast tomorrow if the forecast is as good as they reckon. The wife's at work all day.

The R1200 is water cooled. The RnineT is air cooled, so I guess is the last of the twin cams.

Ooh pics mate? Sounds nice :).

I have tried to upload pictures before without success. One of the best bits on my bike is that I had my seat recovered in leather by a guy from Clydebank with the words BOB'S ARSE imbossed in red put into the seat at the back of the seat facing.

Well got some wax on the new steed today, lubed the chain and just an all over clean. Going to try and keep on top of the chain and cleaning the muck off the rear wheel.
