  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

i wish :(. Work has to come first for me.

Need me money for a few bricks with a stupidly high price tag.

Well Oli I am off for a job interview today so fingers crossed I may be joining the working class again soon.  Decided to get a part time job to stop me from going more crackers than the norm for me.  But as it is part time it will still leave plenty of time for riding and cake eating. :D

GOOD LUCK CHRIS!

Finally with a window in my busy 2 weeks off calendar I awake (late) to blue skies and dry ish looking everything else. I am just back in suffering from what can only be described as hypothermia  Turns out while it looked amazing through the window there was still frost and ice on the roads :D Was a hairy 70 mile blast   :cocktail: Gopro all set up new battery new bigger faster SD card and I put it on angled far too low so it's merely an HD record of my friggin speedo....  :peek:

Whoops, done that on our first day on our tour of the coast last year, ****ed me right off.

Whoops, done that on our first day on our tour of the coast last year, ****ed me right off.

Had to stop while I still had the ability to do so under control and use the warm goodness of the engine to inject heat into hands again. Where I stopped way by a bridge in middle of nowhere and some randomer was in the garden at their house dancing in garden very energetically so I stood there until they noticed me and were suitably embarrassed. As I was leaving I hadn't noticed but the person may have been ****ed as they were walking over the bridge towards me and were about 25 meters behind me as I pulled off :D Also had some big F off Dodge ram thing in front of me with extra wide body and dual back wheels, the thing was slightly wider than the lane we were in and tended to block the entire road. The pratt thought it was hilarious keeping a bike behind and kept slowing right down then planting it making a thick black cloud for me. Did it about 8 times..... When I turned off he kept going but when I was off bike warming he had turned around and came the same way as me slowed as he passed me gave some dirty look then floored it again. He was hitting 90mph min at peak and sitting around 80mph most of time from what I could work out, but I was happy to keep back well away from the thing and go slower due to loss of feeling in hands and balls. The thing sounded like a super charged lorry! Could still hear it a good mile and a half away as he turned at a T junction and gave it everything he had into the distance.

Not overly so, more annoying than anything else. I've been usin it for 4 years ffs you'd think I would be able to set it up by now lol. First time I used it I got it bang on then took a few goes after that to find out what I did right the first time.

Fitted Oxford heated grips to my Yamaha YBR 125.

Hopefully won't be riding it for too much longer (going to pass my mod1/2 soon!) but whilst I am at least my hands will be a bit warmer.

Heated grips turned on. Went out for a blast. Realised why, after all these years, I still like riding a motorbike. Great fun.

Chris - what's the news after the job interview ?

That's what I did, but the place and job have sadly taken a turn for the worse and even though I actually enjoyed it, I now HATE it with a passion and need to find something else before I go postal on them.  :punch:

Chris - what's the news after the job interview ?

Shhhh

We don't mention it mate ;)

Whooops.

Chris - what's the news after the job interview ?

Apparently they found someone with skills closer to the criteria than me for all 3 jobs!  That is despite the fact that I have spent the last 15 years in passenger transport, am tail lift trained and wheel chair trained.  It would seem I am not skilled enough to drive people in a van to hospital and back.  Oh and the job is still being advertised on the web.

I did email them and ask for feedback as to where I fell down as the interview went really well and to ask why the jobs were still being advertised but of course they have not replied.

Applied for another one today so see how that goes.  Thanks for asking and I certainly don't mind sharing with you guys.

Cheers for the feedback Chris - that sucks and particularly with the type of job you were going for.

Credit to you for looking at this type of support job, we need more people like you in society (especially Mr Kipling).

Fingers crossed someone sees sense and gets you working quickly.

Well picked the k13 up from its last dealer service today. Clean bill of health, one small recall job sorted, pads need changing soon which I'll do.

Had an f800gt as a loaner, really nice bike. Would be an ideal first bike or commuter tool. Built down to a price though compared to the k.

Got back on mine and it felt like a race bike - narrow bars, leaning forward, rapid as you like. Grinning all the way home.

Glad to hear it mate!

The f800gt looks nice enough imo, the engine just doesnt inspire me enough to even get a test ride. Parallel twin, urgh.. no thanks :D

Whack a 100+ bhp motor in that isn't a parallel twin n id probably test ride one tbh.

but yeah, the k13 is a different beast all together isnt it haha

Yeah, couldn't agree more mate. Good bike, dull and the engine is not my cuppa at all.

Once you e had a quick bike you just cannot go backwards !!!

It took me ages to decide on the k13, looked at zzr14, hyabusa but the top gear shove from the beemer just stole it and the build quality was head and shoulders above the rest.

The final decider was the dealers. The others were just not interested.

i've not even had a 'quick' bike as such, the VFR is by no means slow but i cant decide on anything else, so i think ill keep this for another summer.

ZZR14 is a mad bike aswell isnt it, ive heard that with a power commander theyre hitting 220bhp. I do completely understand how the BM build quality sealed the deal though!

I've got a mate who's looking for a bike atm (he's 59 now, so quite abit older than me) but such a sound bloke n an absolute nutcase on a bike. He's had Hayabusa's in the past and is looking to feed the craving again. He's been looking at k13's amongst other things but cant make his mind up yet either. He found himself nipping up to 170mph quite regular on the Busa (which is why he sold it) so he's on catch 22 really. He wants the craving, but doesn't want to end up in prison :D

I know.

Its why he sold it. Said it was boring unless the throttle was wide open, then it was ballistic.

The Hayabusa is a wonderful bike as it is one of the most relaxing ways to travel, until you nail it when it gets silly. They are remarkably pleasant for pottering along at the legal limit.

My mates H2 is up for sale apparently, but those aren't sensible at any point. Probably not ideal for those worried about their licence though...

Yeah its the pleasant bit that bores him i think. Hes abit of a nut job. He liked the way the Busa would either wheelspin or wheelie depending where he put his weight

I think he said it got about 178mph when a calibrated speed gun was pointed at it. He reckoned itd go more if he wasnt such a big fella. At 6 foot 2 n quite a big build, he struggled to tuck in. That was slightly downhill too i think, on an early Busa that wasnt restricted.

H2 would be mega! Have you had a go on that? Bet its mad!

Yes I have; it tends to teleport you from place to place rather than transport you.

I'm delighted I've had the chance to ride one, but there's no way I'd like to own one.
