What did you do to your bike today?

Yes I have; it tends to teleport you from place to place rather than transport you.

I'm delighted I've had the chance to ride one, but there's no way I'd like to own one.

Sounds like great fun.

Ive seen videos of first rides, people who had r1's and stuff and are still just blown away by it.

I know what you mean. Sounds like you'd be dead or in prison :D

  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

  • Finished! That's 2016 done.

I gave my bike extra security now that the shed essentially fronts the house. Has taken me months to find somewhere that makes the type I wanted and would make it to order, well that was not the hard part, getting them to send to NI was a nightmare..... "It might get broken"..... Well if you think your steel might break in transit, I don't want it FML!

It lifts clean off it's floating hinge on left which has a blocking plate on it's left flank so it must be opened at least 90 degrees before it can lift. A lot of others needed full length of bar clear to slide out and others were just crap and crazy money. Seriously though, no one makes anything like it locally in over a year I've been trying and the bloke who made this was fantastic, cost £54 made to the mm I requested and painted the colour I wanted inc shipping which was £5 more than for GB mainland.

That's a bargain fuubs. Looks well made.

I have a large wooden garage with double doors but all the hinges are fitted with dome head bolts so are reasonably robust and both door latches have the same tamper proof bolts.

Guess any scrote could always saw his way in if desperate enough !!!

After a few days of frustration, sent the Interphone F5MC back for a refund.

No automatic priority switching, which was implied in the blurb, and issues with sav nav spoken instructions garbling the music to the point both jumbled together and not decipherable.

Have ordered a Sena 10S instead so hope that does what it's supposed to.

Glad i didnt buy one now haha.

Please report back with how good the Sena is. Wouldnt be muchly appreciated (:

Of course.

It should be here on Tuesday

Managed to stop it from falling over with me on it when some old git in a new style Mini backed into me at a junction!  Horn on the TEX is rubbish and I have two on mine and he didn't hear it, hear the exhaust burbling away or see a bloke on a bike behind him at the junction with his headlight on!!!!

Oh and then he just drove off without stopping.  Followed him to the local B & Q store and had a few words with the old sod who must have been 80 plus.  When I said he had backed into me he hadn't got a clue!  I showed him the imprint of my front tyre on his rear bumper and he then realised he must have done.  He didn't hear my horn because he is a bit deaf and did not have his hearing aide in but couldn't answer why he didn't see me when he decided to stop in the middle of a junction having just set off when there was plenty of room and then back up into the junction where I had took his place at the STOP sign.

Luckily there was no damage but I was so close to falling off as the impact knocked my front wheel sideways which of course altered the camber of the bike that was facing down hill.  I felt the bike going but 'just' managed to save it otherwise it would have been on top of me!

Rest of the ride was great but it shows two things.  Complacency is dangerous and I need a better LOUDER horn.

Blimey Chris, close one. You just cannot predict what some idiots will do no matter how defensive you ride. Close call indeed.

Well I finally washed the bike today, really good clean top to bottom. Got some polish on everything.

Fitted the new tailpack kindly replaced by bmw under warranty. The zip on the old one failed on one of the tight corners. No quibble from bmw, even replaced with the upgraded, better designed version.

brake pads are very low and boots are getting down so that'll be the next job.

Crikey. That is close chris! Doesnt take alot to knock you off balance does it, n its a big bike to fall over. Glad you saved it!

Ive just done 70 miles on mine. First time this year ive been out on it properly.

Loved every second. Especially hooning past a caravan at 12k rpm, through hmm, a few gears. I have missed that. Lots of fun.

Chris, hope you reported it to the police. Unfortunately some people do not know when to give up their licence until it's too late and they've lost the choice having it taken away after causing a serious accident/injury.

I've had a similar incident but luckily in a car. He drove off too but after following him home was met with his daughter. He denied hitting me even though he'd managed to damage bumpers on both cars. He got nasty with both and his daughter. Ended up with me calling the police with his daughter stopping him from driving off before they got there. His daughter called a while after to thank me as he has now had his licence taken away which she'd been trying to convince him to stop driving as after numerous parking prangs and near misses.

Not bike related but just been loosening up for tomorrow's half marathon round the Silverstone F1 circuit. Been 4 years since the last one so been in hard training for the last 6 months.

Fingers crossed the weather is like today's, cannot wait !

Good luck. I'm doing the GnR this year and it's decades since I've ran half marathon and need to loose a belly before then

Hes had a Busa before. Hes been tempted for a ZZR14 too. But i think the k13's won it. He is a loony and a big guy, so needs a big fast bike.

Woo. Glad its cleaned up well. Any pics? ;)

No didn't bother reporting it.  In fairness there would be no point as no injury and no damage they just wouldn't be interested even if I complained about the manner of his driving.  I have a mental note of him and his car so will keep an eye for him in future and keep my distance.

Half marathons?  Blimey I didn't know we were in the company of keep fit types!  Only time I run is when I am caught short and even though the whole running keeping fit thing isn't for me I think you guys are doing great to be tackling this sort of stuff.  So good luck with that.

When the weather finally warms up I think I will keep fit enough just tidying the massive garden or supervising Jane do it anyway!!!
