That's bloody lovely!

That looks nice in the red, and I think I saw it for sale when we bought our 280 a couple of weeks ago, but once I saw Dragon Green in the flesh there was no other option for us!

yeah there were a couple of dragon green ones for sale, but the misses vetoed them

this was relatively local, and ticked all the boxes

I will have a play with the driving modes tomorrow,

For what its worth I just leave mine in Comfort and I also do about 20k a year.

Once in a while I'll dip into Sport but typically I get what I want just from knocking the shifter back from D into S.

Comfort suspension setting is great for driving with family but on tight turns sport is only way for me. Otherwise its like those american cruisers ;)

also I set driving mode individually as there are some settings in presets I didnt like really so now I basically change suspension setting only

Rainworth? I tested it a couple of weeks ago and it was very nice. Love the red.

cheers - yes that's the one - it took me a while to get a deal out of them - but happy with price I paid

I wont play with the individual settings - enough tech with the presets for me.

I imagine I will be the same - mainly comfort, odd play in sports.

Now I got to figure seat memory settings

I don't appear to be able to set the 3 storage settings,  it doenst beep to store the setting !!!

and I cant find the key settings in the infotainment for the seats - even after reading the manual !!!

Setting the Individual is really as simple as tapping a few buttons (operating a smartphone is 10x more complicated as a comparison) and you can't damage anything no matter how hard you tried so you might want to give it a try at some point. No preset is without its faults so cherry picking the best bits is needed if you care to get the best out of it. Comfort suffers from even worse throttle response than the average VAG car (something which is present even in Sport) and usually the steering is also too light in this setting. Its only benefit is the suspension setting but that is not exclusive to this profile of-course. You can absolutely have the comfiest ride available without dampening the rest of the car's behaviour and response.

Usually Individual with almost everything set to Sport and DCC in Comfort is what works best. People might think of "Sport" as a mode that unleashes the beast and makes the car too aggressive but this is far from true, it's not exactly an Aventador. Despite the name suggesting otherwise, by  "Sport" you rather get the standard response that the car is capable of while in the rest of the modes everything is toned down.

Actually sport suspension is fantastic and helps to get that extra grip on fast turns.

But you wont choose it with family in the back ;)

Cheers - I will try it - as throttle response is poor actually

Sure, experiment and let us know how you like it (don't be afraid to pick Sport).

Throttle response will improve a bit but will remain poor even in Sport profile or when setting Drive to Sport. First quarter or even third of the pedal travel feels dead, as if you're driving a car with half the power, then suddenly it wakes up and it's given it all by 3/4 of the pedal, typical VAG throttle mapping unfortunately. This is something that only a pedalbox can fix for good.

Still DCC is milder than any aftermarket suspension and definitely tolerable even by most families standards!

This is a common complaint across all Superb’s (as well as the Octavia, Kodiaq, Karoq etc) but it can be reduced with VCDS or better still a pedal box.

Fixed that for you  :tongueout:

Regarding the VCDS remedies: I would swear that the "Driving profile switchover" method felt like a placebo no matter what some people insisted on reporting. Logging throttle values also did not reveal any difference between before and after. It also does not make sense to be something that directly controls throttle mapping being located in "Power steering". I think it's what the name suggests i.e. a setting for an immediate or more gradual change of the car's response when you are switching profiles.

The "Audi mod" though (setting manufacturer to: Audi) seemed like it did actually do something although again not comparable to the pedal box effect even on its softer setting.

Three in a row: a pedal box really is a worthwhile investment on the 2.0 TSI.

I got a RaceChip XLT and it really does change the way the car responds. After having it installed for about a year, I couldn’t see my car without it.

I was very skeptical towards these devices as I thought they were simply amplifying the signal but after seeing how many people whose opinion I trusted in general were swearing by them I took the plunge and went for one and they really do deal with that dreaded first 1/3 of VAG pedal travels. Linearity still is not there but at least the car's response is more intuitive now: you half-floor it? you go!

I have the older version of this which is spot on:

https://www.racechip.co.uk/throttle-tuning/xlr.html

It removes the throttle lag that the cars come with, there are one or two different suppliers of a similar thing, but having had a bad experience from another of their products before, I for one certainly couldn’t recommend them.

cheers - just read some posts about them

worried about warranty - so will get used to it first

It's completely removable (a 1min job) and undetectable to the ECU, it simply connects in-line just before the throttle switch on top of the pedal. It also has no way of bypassing the manufacturer values of engine power and torque (it does not add boost or alter AFR, timing etc.)

Definitely try the car as is first, with Sport drive setting, and see how you get on with it, but if you don't, know that there's not really any viable warranty worries. Problem is if you try one it's very hard to go back to stock.

They can be removed completely in a couple of minutes if it bothers you, personally I leave mine fitted.

I left my PedalBox+ in place for the last two warranty services and it's not been mentioned.

Same here, left it connected with no mention about it at the service.

They probably thought ' this car drives nice'
