This just arrived (from Sheffield via my dad).
Hoping it will work! It's from a 1987 Nissan Bluebird so it has different wiring but I've found a pinout diagram. Good job because all the wires are black or red.

I went over to Finer Details NZ to add the Audi rings and pinstripes. I decided to just go with the double centre stripe on the sides.

DROOL!!!!

Two years ago today, the full extent of rust was becoming apparent. Don't leave your classic Audi in a paddock!

I got Finer Details NZ to drop Rusty off at Kohl Rod & Custom Ltd for them to check out the brake fluid leak. It turns out it was my fault for buying the wrong T-piece union for the rear. They've fitted a new one and are making a new front to rear line (the only one I didn't replace) because it doesn't quite reach now.
Happy with that because it means all lines are new now.

The sunlight really brings out the flake in the paint.

Also we now have brakes, thanks to Kohl Rod & Custom Ltd.

It looked a bit small next to all of teh 4WDs and American tanks!

I can collect Rusty tomorrow from Finer Details NZ. They just had a couple of things to finish off after the Christmas break. 
It looks so awesome!
Then I have a list of things to fix - broken seat release cable, speedo, stalling, and it's WoF time again

Finer Details NZ have really delivered the goods here!
After a full three-stage paint correction, CarPro CarPro NZ CQuartz Finest ceramic paint protection was applied. The results speak for themselves.
I have a few things to fix, then I'll be able to take it somewhere for a proper photo shoot.

Good question! It looks blue from some angles, purpley from others.
It's called Montego Black LY9V.

got to ask - what are you intending to do to the rear lights and 'coupe' strip to bring them up to the same standard?

Good question. There's a lot of UV damage from its seven years left in a paddock. The surface is polished smooth now but the tint is faded. Replacements are going for silly money.

 Something to ponder.

 

Today I finished off the sub install, fixed the snapped cable in the seat, installed the tape deck, cleaned the carpet, tried and failed to fix the speedo again. Not a bad afternoon's work.

Also some vac lines arrived but the clips haven't come yet.

 

The vacuum lines looked pretty tired.

So I looked a bit closer and found that they are not in good shape! The rubber is hard and makes cracking noises if you try to bend it.

So I cut new ones to length but I need to wait for the clips and joiners to arrive to finish the job. They apparently cleared customs days ago.

Oil and filters changed.

I believe that is the colour of 'Lust'  

Forgive me for asking, Rob, but why are there two oil filters?  Is one an add-on for higher-output versions of this engine?

Good question - I don't know! The smaller one is for the turbo, maybe for a bit more local cooling? Or to give an extra reservoir in case of turbo oil starvation?

They must have had heat issues because there are two radiators and an oil cooler.
 

I remember lusting after the road going Lancia Intergrowler many years ago and reading a review on it that said it even had an oil cooler on the power steering, just because they needed to homolgate one for the rally car. I got to drive one eventually
