The Briskoda drive recorder video footage thread part 2

That pic says a lot - how close?!? Can't watch the video as its set to private on YouTube

it always looks miles away on the wide-angle dash cam but it was enough for me to slam on the brakes. Id say a couple of feet and I was still accelerating to get around the other cars before the next gantry so I could slot in to the left lanes again.

privacy fixed

Did you see him? What a moron - that must have been couple of feet at best and he must have been gripping hard to avoid the central reservation. Split second more acceleration from you (that wouldn't have been wrong considering the road and traffic) and that could have been complete carnage

Seems like both of these went to the same school of motoring.

Not even a hint of looking from the van driver.

First one - fairly typical self-important Mini driver!

Second one - it looked like you came round the roundabout fairly quickly which the van driver was probably not expecting. Van driver should have been more aware though.

Good choice of music by the way!

Maybe it's camera angles, but I don't see what the MIDI driver did wrong? They cleared your path in decent time.

I agree with Tom about the Transit though.

Wide angle lens makes things look further away than they are. Looks like the Mini was a bit too fast on the approach and should've probably stopped.

Which is what I meant about camera angles. Even without Softscoop braking or lifting, the MIDI was out of his way, but that might have "felt close" to a driver or passenger in his car,

Yeah - it's difficult to say for certain from the footage who (if anyone) was at fault. If softscoop was indicating the Mini driver may not have been able to see it. Also it looks like softscoop's road positioning was to the left and so maybe the Mini driver assumed he was going left rather than straight on. Didn't look like he had to brake and was not really inconvenienced if he had to lift. I might have been a bit harsh on the Mini driver at first!

This was annoying... he just couldn't wait a few seconds for me to reverse and then made me wait for him.

I knew going to McDonalds on an evening was a mistake... full of chavs!

And before anyone says it... yes I know I drove in the wrong way but I could quite clearly see there was nobody coming and I didn't want to drive the correct way round past all the chavs. lol

Another cyclist who believes red lights aren't for them..... Notice he sails past the THREE cars already stood at the red lights at exit/entrance 2 and onto the roundabout in front of me!!!

On the way home a chap in an Escort convertible came within a whisker of my car doing a pretty daft overtake followed by driving straight through red lights at a big junction. He should have left his licence in the 90's along with his motor.

I probably shouldn't have flashed but hey...

Here's a couple of videos of drivers pulling out onto a national speed limit road in front of me over the past 24 hours...

1st one is on way to Cheddar and the Astra pulled out and decided to get (slowly) to 30MPH and stay there! I was doing around 55-60, but could see him pulling out and slowed (in line with the road markings), but I didn't expect him to stick at such a low speed! No sound as I may have cussed him!

The 2nd was on the A36 and was typical of a female 4x4 driver who assumed she didn't have to look whilst pulling out onto a national speed limit road as she drives a Land Rover. The fact the Merc was in front of me is no excuse, as I've pulled out there and you can clearly see (IF YOU LOOK) all individual traffic coming towards you - even cars that are nose to tail. Hence the long horn....she got another when she pulled into the layby at the bottom of the A36 too, having driven down the hill at 40MPH.

:swear:  :@ I'm still fuming about this, half an hour later! Moron in a truck cab failing to look and slow at a busy roundabout - daughter was in the passenger seat (hence my restrained language) and would have been first point of impact.

Sends shivers up my spine had I been 1 second quicker to that roundabout. He thought twice about getting out once he clocked me fuming........thankfully for him and me. Not sure if he purposely let it roll back, wouldn't surprise me - cowards always use weapons!

Couple from today.

Another idiot completely incapable of slowing and preparing to stop on a roundabout. It's a 20 zone here too:

This was a close one. She very nearly clips the parked pick up truck. She was an elderly woman... of course:

Screenshot to show how close:

I don't often get annoyed at people, but what on earth this person was doing I have no idea :D

*video consists of mostly the sound of my horn*

I muted the end to keep it SFW :)

Apparently giving way to traffic entering a roundabout...

Perfectly logical :D

Pretty sure it's the other way round :D wouldn't have bothered me if there was traffic and we weren't moving, the sudden braking was due to her being in line with my a pillar

Very slow mover caught me at the end of a straight and stuck behind it for a few miles to the next one. Car behind had just caught us up and joined in on my misery followed moments later by the rear most car. Last car in the line kept well back and didn't tailgate or do a thing to the one behind me. I overtook the thing holding us up, rear most car waited for one behind me to follow suit, but he didn't so he indicated and pulled out to overtake both, then Mr Nissan did this!

The black Lexus was quite miffed and sat behind him for a bit and the Nissan seemed to be brake checking him and then just slowing right down and speeding up, Lexus made no attempt to pass him until the next long straight a couple of miles later and the Nissan floored it and tried to block him getting back in, then tailgated the black Lexus into the next town flashing his lights and indicating coming up to a service station the Lexus guy just slammed on and turned in with the Nissan following right behind him. I was so so tempted to turn around and crack out the popcorn for the ensuing battle which was about to take place, but I was on my way home from work and cba.

The audio yesterday blocked the video on copyright grounds so I took audio from another random bit of yesterdays footage that had different music in background, todays utter knob cheese Corsa woman happened to do what she did while the same fecking track was on lol.

Camera makes things look further away than they are.... millimetre closeness, she actually saw me and floored it to try and make it then sped off through the 30 zone like an utter hero!

Where in your windshield (vertically) is your camera? I can't see your bonnet and can see all 4 of her wheels.

It's at bottom right of screen in a work van the bonnet slops down and away so to see it would be camera pointing down so low there would be no horizon to see it.
