Build quality of Superb III

Featured Replies

@thewinalake I don't have to you it but I want to. 50% of the total mileage with previous car was done having CC on. Since this one is active version the only problem is the distance to the car in front when the whole system take over the control over the speed etc. I have set it up to the smallest gap and still the car will slow down around 250-300ft to the car in front. That is way too soon to overtake on the motorway. The good thing is I can accelerate myself and close down the gap but then it all hits the economy of traveling.

I probably have to find my way of making the tool useful for myself and make it work as well as the previous CC.

Use turn signals in time to prevent deceleration.

Hi,

Having taken delivery of my Superb Combi mk3,Ambient,2litre in early January, and generally very happy with it,i was disappointed to discover that the Skoda roof bars that i had bought for my mk2 model(s) are too short to fit across the new model-by about 2cm! And to really rub it in,when i rang Skoda to get a price for the new roof bars,i was quoted 340euros. Have had no luck so far in getting a cheaper copy version. Crazy money!

@bobryan That is a crazy money. I paid for mine £140 for MK2.

But since the Skoda is refunding the cost of the LifeShine protection (£330) I probably put the money into the cross roof bars. I need them a lot for my business so ni escape from this purchase.

Setting of home in sat nav

Access sat nav

Go to settings

Go to manage memory and there will be option to enter home address either via map if at home or postcode

Many thanks. Done that already. But why would they put this in Manage Memory section? Anyway, it's done

It Is. The menu Car_setup_ACC last selected distance.

After you select the distance on the lever. Every time you turn on, automaticli placed on  your settings.

And here is my pain. It does not allow you to set your own distance like 80ft or 100 ft

. Just between very close to very far. I still don't like it

This is true. By the meter can not be set.  However saves the position range which fits you, there where I described.

Mine has an annoying resonance buzzing rattle at around 2krpm when accelerating. Not impressed tbh

Check the glovebox (open it) whilst driving as I have narrowed mine down to this.

OK will do.

Does it sound like its external or in the cabin ?

In the cabin. Checked the glove box and doesn't appear to be the source. Sounds like it's from centre console area around the satnav screen

Did you see my post a while back about the cubby hole by your right knee ? I had a vibration last week the also sounded like it was from the centre dash.... Hasn't done it again though. Have to say the roads around Sheffield are really shocking though...

Also have a slight vibration that maybe coming from the drivers side seat belt mount that I need to track down properly :-)

No, I didn't see that. I'll check that out too....

Way back in the 70s we had an old Austin 1100 that made a serious rattling noise on hard turns so following helpful advice and having checked (so I thought) all other sources I replaced the LH drive shaft.  Test drive revealed that the rattle was still there so I changed the RH drive shaft a further test drive showed the rattling still there.  After a prolonged test drive and deep thought we (my new SWMBO and I) pulled over and went through everything that we could think of, whilst this meditation was going on SWMBO opened the glove box and took out a Maltesers box with six or seven  lovely little round chockies in it, chockies eaten test drive was resumed and low and behold rattling gone.  Cross examination of SWMBO revealed that she had put the box in there several weeks earlier, at about the time the rattling started,  to get them out of sight as SHE WAS ON A DIET.  As Gizmo says check the glove box!  Where was he in 1973?

Well, it's not the glove box, nor the cubby box by my right knee. It's coming from the centre of the dash. It's not the sliding cover over the phone box either...

I have the same issu. When I press the accelerator there's a 'rasping' noise, I thought it was the engine or exhaust but after reading the comments here I opened the cubby box & it stopped. It didn't sound like it was coming from that part of the car. I'll mention it to my dealer next week as he is working on trying to get my phone to pair with the mirror link.

I'm not impressed tbh. I expected the quality gap to close in line with the pricing gap

Mine to. The mine is the same. Did you find anything.

I've got the same noise. Sounds central and inside dash. Tried the usual with no luck.

Given that a significant %age of us on the forum have the same problem it's reasonable to assume that the same ratio of all owners including those not members of brisky have this problem, which makes it pretty common. You'd expect more than a blank face when confronting the dealer with it. Let's keep fingers crossed that skoda has worked out a fix that they can undertake at a service as it's damn annoying

On Monday I go to the service, because of this chatter. I inform you what will happen.

Can I throw another item into the mix - the glasses holder (in the roof console).

Ours decided that it needs to open each time a door is closed! (Air pressure) It will also open if the roof lining is touched in its proximity.

Seems as though it has lost its back fixing. Dealer has ordered a replacement. The point to watch is the corners are very sharp, so if it opens and you don't notice a cut head is the result, first time minor second needed medical attention. There wasn't a third as it has double sided tape firmly holding it shut until replaced.

Two days in and I'm very impressed with mine. Everything is perfect as far as I can tell. Well done Skoda!

Was talking to a mate of mine who's an Audi mechanic last night, not impressed with the quality of the new A4. Numerous problems with them & they have 1 which the engine packed up after 30km!! A little buzzing noise doesn't seem all the bad now does it?? ;-)
