Replaced one of the rear number plate light bulbs.

Taxed it. Had to do it this morning before I got in the car as I had cancelled the DD. Wanted to split the 2 car insurance and MOTs with my car tax

Oh, almost forgot. Dropped the estate off at the bodyshop to get this sorted out after SWMBO grazed a concrete post........

Ooh gutting!...

Fitted a brand new GFB DV+. Feel the difference when you ask for power, and the noise is more refined than the OE DV, and less "chavvy".

Fixed the fuel gauge!

Pin had worked its way out of the connector, making occasional contact as I went over bumps. I don't have any replacement pins,

so I clipped the corresponding wire at the other plug, and fitted it with a spade terminal joint. Gauge now functions normally,

which is a relief.

Yeeeees, my passenger footwell is a tip. Axle stands, wheel chocks, bits of wire, a set of old spark-plugs from the truck...

I'd have hoped so too Mike - given how easy the lights are to remove! Bet they were glad about that :)

Fitted the engine hood gas strut mod and fitted my new winters.

Warrior193.

Removed 8 wheels from both vehicles, washed and cleaned them, stacked them tidily in the garage, got the winter wheels out from the garage and fitted them to both vehicles. 3 hours cold hard work, and then came in to find the wife was making Shepherds Pie for us. :sun:

Topped up the steering fluid..

Again

Update tomorrow!

Went to see how the estate is getting on in the bodyshop - everything progressing nicely, was just getting warmed up ready for painting when I got there.  I was a bit worried that the lights were simply masked off when I first saw it, but on closer inspection the lights have been removed and the holes packed. Should be ready for collection tomorrow.

What about the headlamp washer covers, or is that rectangle below the light a fixed piece? There'd be paint lines there when they popped open.

Emptied everything out of it.

Drove it 18miles.

did some paperwork.

handed the key to a man and collected my permanent replacement vehicle..

Deleted all the unnecessary pipework to do with the SAI system and valves under the manifold.

Successfully broke my dipstick tube, so driving around with tape blocking the hole halfway up it. My last experiment of replacing knackered sump bolts with sealer has so far been successful, but I think I'll go the more normal route and just fit a new dipstick here.

Waved goodbye to the Mrs' Fabia vRS after nine years of ownership.

A strange feeling of how quickly time passes, when I remember you getting that!

So a Citigo to replace it?

Not a nice feeling - we were both gutted when we watched the 54 plate Octy being driven away last July after 8 years of sterling service. I bet you had that same feeling as us - that feeling of wondering if we'd done the right thing in selling her!

Mike

It has served her well over the years but I've been asking her if it was time for a change for a while now.

Yes we travelled down to Hitchin area to get it just over a year after I got mine in 2006. It's now headed a little further up North to Leeds.

Yeah she got the 66 plate Citigo colour edition at the end of September. Looks to be an ex showroom car with upgraded interior at no cost to us. (Quilted seats, Leather pack & gloss white dashboard).

Took my car in for a service today and also also had the front discs and pads replaced, Not bad I suppose as it's the first time they have been done at 95.000 miles.

Got all the windows tinted, at last.

  • 3 weeks later...

Winter wheels on, summers cleaned and stacked, new Nordic wheel trims fitted.

Now having a cheeky coffee while the boy is cleaning it.

First MOT for my Monte estate, passed with 1 advisory.

Updated the maps on my Amundsen+ to Western Europe V8.

washed it for the first time in months - then did the Civic as well...   ran out of daylight to do the MX5.

Well, just back from picking the car up from the bodyshop, and once again a first class job from Pulsar Bodytech in Whitby, Very, very happy indeed, a lovely job done and the car returned spotless.

Big thanks to them once again.

How much did they charge for that Mike, out of interest?

Mine is off to VW tomorrow as my wife now works there. Hopefully they can sort the noise that occurs around 30mph getting louder when you go faster. Very odd

Air Con regassed as was making a right ol racket.

£50, which I thought wasn't bad.
