Front brake disk sizes

Featured Replies

Hi im looking to find out what the standard size of the vrs pd130 brakes are, looking to upgrade to the biggest possible without having to change my standard alloys.

288 standard, 312 is the upgrade and you can keep the vrs alloys

You'll need the carrier to upgrade to the 312mm brakes.

AND be aware of the following:

312mm from Octy/TT etc. will fit on the standard no problems. However, I swapped the wheels for a little while to BBS split rims and the thickness of the surface of the wheel meant that they wouldn't fit over the caliper by a tiny but and the knuckles of the caliper had to be ground/worn down a little to stop them rubbing. Only a tiny amount and its of a seemingly unnecessarily thick bit and ran them for several thousand miles with no problems.

you also need the calipers

you also need the calipers

That would also help lol.

Edit - Ignore me, listen to the guy below lol.

That would also help lol.

However the pd130 seat leon has 288mm uses the same caliper as there pd150 which ha 312mm. So another model to look out for when buying the bigger brakes from eBay/scrap yard etc.

The pd150 leon only has 288mm either.. They use the same ATE brake system compared to the lucas system used on the fabia, and only need caliper carriers and disks to convert to 312mm

I forgot to add the carrier is also needed. But I stand corrected on disc size, cheers.
