cheers.

To get the update go to skoda portal and enter vin number you will then get the updates for your car. Follow instructions in the guide at the bottom of the webpage and that should give you what you need, that’s all I did and it worked.

1. What you need
  • Navigation SD card from the ŠKODA Original Accessories for updating the navigation maps. For other updates, ordinary SD card is just fine, SDHC card is recommended (Class 10).
  • A computer with a compression program that supports .zip.
  • Downloaded data may take more than 4 GB. Make sure that you have enough space on the hard disk of your computer.
2. Downloading new data:
  • Due to downloading large amounts of data and depending on the speed of your Internet connection can the whole downloading process take some time (even 8 hours or more).
  • For the operating system Windows you will be provided with a download manager that will guide you through the whole process of downloading and unpacking the data. All downloaded files are in ZIP format.
3. Import of the data into the infotainment system:
  • Import of the data into the infotainment system:
  • Insert the card into the SD slot of one of your infotainment system. Updated navigation data is retrieved directly from the navigation SD card.
4. Import of radio station logos:
  • Import of radio station logos:
    1. Insert supported medium (SD, USB.) into the slot of your infotainment system.
    2. Press "Radio"> "Settings"> "Station logos" and select requested station.
    3. If the station already has the logo assigned, you have to remove it.
    4. Select the medium with logo images and select desired logo.
    5. Repeat also for other stations. Now you can remove the medium from the slot.

Hope this helps....

My problem is the system can't detect my sd card, it's greyed out where I have the options for sd card, usb or cd.

Can anyone help please?

Also, should the sat nav card be in or out? I did try both ways but no difference.

Thank you

WARNING!           Read before update attempt!!!

Hi all!

I need to post this as I got 2 people reach out to me that there unit got bricked! One of which I shared software. Other one found it on internet.

First case is in Turkey: Gentleman found it on web, turned out he was trying to install software that wasn't for his hardware.

He didn't read carefully. Unit got bricked as it was stuck in update insert source. When turned off no way to get back into radio and other menus.

Looks like Škoda didn't anticipate some one having wrong software. As they didn't intend this for user updates. There is no way getting back to "BIOS" or reboot the unit.

I tried helping the gentleman and looking on internet for 2 h to find out is there way for him to access the unit, no luck!

Another gentleman who asked me to share him software from Croatia, today contacted me that his unit got bricked, probably the same way. He said he folowed all instructions.

I had others from Croatia asked for update everything went ok for them. As many others for years. So not 100% sure what went wrong for this guy.

He said his unit got stuck on insert source. And he puled the plug on battery to reset it. Bad idea!

In update file there is PDF with instructions and clear warning "do at your own risk".

So I wanted to warn any one attempting to do this.

Otherwise you will need to buy new MIB, in that case I suggest upgrading to MIB II or MIB 2,5 (FL).

I will make a video and post it here, I will need all of you to like it on YouTube so YouTube can put it in top of search list, so we can warn others attempting this update on there own.

I also have a question. I calculated the index from 'Confirmation of installation change' and give me CE 43 xXOR C9 D2 = 7E6. How should I be entered? 07 E6 or ...?
Thanks

Hi Croat

Your warning is probably very wise words and I guess that people should update at their own risk. Do you have a link though or able to point in the right direction for MIB 1 update?

SWBoy, do you have it?

Many thanks everyone.
