How do you clean your beloved Skoda?....

Hand wash, every time. Had a traumatic experience with a car wash, once.

Powerwash to get rid of major crud, followed by hand wash then powerwash to rinse off.

Great minds think alike Denis ;)

I've never used a car wash and i never will. A few years ago i was parked next to a Brand New C-Class Merc (in black) that had clearly been thru a few car washes, the swirl marks were unbelievable !

Even for a rinse I don't really hold with the powerwash thing especially after lovingly hand washing my RS. It just seems to remove too much of what you've just spent half an hour putting on ie wax. I 'crimp' the end of the hose to wash off the thick stuff, hand wash and then just use the hose to pour water over the car. Works for me.

And talking of wasting time washing cars when they stay clean for fifteen minutes (we were weren't we?) try the Turtle Wax Extreme stuff. Bright green bottle, excellent 'beading' and last time I looked, two for one at Halfords.

Handwash - have a lovely brush hose attachment, with a doofler under for putting in shampoo (rarel;y used) - Use high pressure hoselock fitting for crud, brush for everything else - rag and hose and a long arm for the insides of the alloys.

Time intensive, but cheap and I get a nice feeling that it was ME that got it that shiny. [sad, eh?] :D

Hand... or rather, Mark's hands ;)

... probably a rental car if it was that bad - avarage 3.5 auto washes a week!:D

I use the power washer at work unless I'm at home, bored at the weekend. Then I'll spend a good 4 hours minimum cleaning and polishing the car! SWMBO thinks I'm mad! :D

Always wash it by hand.....rinse off, shampoo and wax, rinse, chamois dry. 1 hr (fortnightly)

Interior is vacced out weekly, windows polished monthly and the dash trim wiped over weekly too. 10 mins for vac and dash wipe, 25 in total if windows polished too.

Andy

By hand everytime. ok in the summer, but I can remember last winter using our pressure washer in temps around 0c and by the time I had finished I had a nice soapy ice rink all round the car.

That sounds familiar :D ! You trying not to fall over and all the neighbours thinking 'knob'. :D

Average pressure hose down, two bucket method wash with NXT MG shampoo, hose down, towel dry, windows, sills interior vac etc, weekly to fortnightly depending on condition (2hrs). Every 4 - 6 washes follow above with an application of MG NXT wax (polymer polish), excellent beading. (another 2hrs :( )

Wash by hand..

2 bucket method, Flash car wash system with Poorboys slick n suds in it (not the flash stuff)

Muc off motorcycle soft brush kit and muc off degreaser for under sills and alloys

Dry off with autodry setting on flash, and mop up with poorboys waffle weave towel

Spray down with poorboys spray and gloss

Email a detailer to come and do a 6 monthly polish and seal

I just leave mine out in the rain.

with a Kosovan

By hand using 2 bucket mehod.

No need to dry with towel no more as I've now got Aqua Gleam. :D

Nope :)

Do you all keep your houses as clean as your cars?

my mrs just said you dont take as much pride in the house as that car

(about five mins ago)

By hand everytime, swmbo has a Citroen C2 which she puts through the car wash and everytime I think I can't be ar**d and will put it through a car wash I look at hers, it's a mess, swirl marks galore!!! Don't even think Swirl X would get them out.

Do you all keep your houses as clean as your cars?

as best I can, why have a clean car and live, eat and sleep in a dump ;):D
