DAY 25: Christmas Day....

Swissvax Onyx Wax

Meguiar's Mirror Glaze 16 Wax

TDG pH Neutral Snowfoam/PreWash

Many thanks for enjoying the Advent calendar thread folks.

SWMBO has done a sterling job with this idea, she has studied my detailing in some depth to create this list of products.

I'm looking forward to using all the products..... part of the hobby i enjoy so much!

So i'll either keep the thread going as i use them - or start a fresh thread of reviews.

Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2016! [emoji106]

Cheers,

Ste.

Cheers Karl - i'm mega impressed with SWMBO...... she has been following the detailing scene really well.

Swissvax for example was a brand i hadnt really been attracted to; but she did her research and

got there all on her own using a few contacts i have in the industry here and there to get input/feedback.

Next time you are over - grab the Swissvax Onyx for a test - you will not be disappointed  ;)

I would be, and sounds like she has done some cracking research!

That's a very nice offer from you on the swissvax. Should we get SWMBO approval first? ;)

I'm hopefully going to get a coat of wax on the car tomorrow but not checked on the weather...

Tomorrow.....  :giggle: ..... check out the forecast dude  :rain:  :rain:  :rain:

I plan to be camped up watching the beading!  ;)

You know you are welcome at our place anytime and to try any of the detailing stash as well.

Funnily enough I've just had a look... :( doesn't need washing as such. Was just a quick once over and a wax but looks awful tomorrow!

That sounds like a good day actually! Could get both motors done and make day of it? Weather permitting as always![emoji97] [emoji97] [emoji97]

DAY 2:  50cal Ambush Superfoam

50cal Website Blurb....

Developed with the latest surfactant technology available and sourced from naturally derived precursors when available, this new long cling foam is unsurpassed by its dwell time and cleaning ability. It is optimised by use through a dedicated foaming lance head at the highest pressure setting available on the pressure washer. When calibrated correctly it will produce a thick mousse like foam which adheres to vertical surfaces for up to 30 minutes. This is as close to a ‘touch less’ wash as you will get and it will not degrade any prior surface treatments.

It has a built in wax and dewatering aid to further help the rinsing of the product from the vehicle. It works extremely efficiently on the removal of break dust and road film on wheels thus potentially rendering the need to use a secondary alloy wheel cleaner unnecessary. We recommend using a starting dilution of 2-3 inches into a 1lt wash bottle, topped up with ideally deionised water that’s attached to the foaming lance. The air intake and pressure should be set to the maximum settings available. The product is also enhanced with a rich Bubblegum smell and for the real enthusiasts, we will be offering options to have the foam coloured, in due course.

In Short:

  • Unsurpassed cleaning performance
  • Market beating foaming characteristics
  • Unrivalled product dwell time on vehicle
  • Excellent alloy wheel cleaning performance
  • Wax and dewatering additives
  • LSP (Last Step Product) safe
  • Extremely economical dilution rates
  • Manufactured, using where available naturally derived raw materials
  • Rich Bubblegum smell
  • Developed in conjunction with the highest professional requirements
  • Not for amateurs!

Thought i would post up on each item and confirm when tested, to complete the thread with some added review comments:-

50cal Ambush Snowfoam:
Smells great, gave a thick heavy foam which cleaned the car amazing well.
No question about the abilities of this product; so i would recommend it.

Not the cheapest at £10.99 for 1L though - based on 50cal website.

Great Idea Ste! Looking forward to the updates!

For one, I hope it helps me track that I've used them all at least.

... And also may help some of you guys if you are/were thinking of purchasing any of the items I was lucky enough to receive as a gift.

hahaha - doubt that'll ever happen..... esp as i'm closely following Shaun's Siramik reviews/write-ups.

I think when the new car arrives - i'll go with Siramik and SC Mist combo - TBH

Hahah! It does look very promising that particular coating! Something I'd consider if I had a brand new motor arriving!

Another one ticked on the latest detail....

Gtechniq T1 Tyre & Trim:
I gave the tyres a good clean, degrease and scrub with a firm brush to remove as much of any old products as possible.
As per the application instructions - a light single coat gives a clean matt look to the tyres.
I left this to cure/dry and the started waxing. Once waxing was complete - i came back to the tyres
and added a second coat which should increase gloss.... and it certainly does - producing a very nice finish.

...250ml bottle purchased in the Xmas sales, based on this sample test!

I was out looking round the .:R36 today planning tomorrows detailing day and ideas;

but the performance of T1 Tyre & Trim really jumped out after a week or so of winter elements.

The tyres were beading really nicely and looked  extremely well protected. Certainly a step up on some recent products.

I cant recommend this enough based on my initial tests.....my go to tyre product for now

No worries buddy - i've already ordered a full size T1; so if you want the small sample pot to try before ordering

then grab it next time you are over Karl - not a problem.

If you are doing a CYC order soon; then i might have a couple of small consumables you could add and save me postage.

Let me know..... many thanks matie!

Finally getting round to some regular detailing after winter...... so thought to start on the advent calendar samples.

Yesterday, i had a detailing day with Karl..... so the ideal time to make a start on these.

1st sample up was Dodo Juice Apple iFoam; smells amazing and foamed beautifully.... pics below.

For a change Karl brought round a pretty dirty vRS with over 2 weeks drit on there.

The snowfoam did a great job pulling the majority of surface dirt off.

I would have no issue recommending this snowfoam; although i would need to check on pricing as well.
