Yeah, I get what you mean, some have been better than others that I've heard in the past.

Bose in a 10 year old Audi was midcore at best and the Fiat 'make' is naff, but the Harman Kardon the M3 and M140 had were very impressive and the Bang & Olufsen in his S3 pretty decent too (although I only heard it on the drive home from getting it, bit of adjustment should improve it).

Dont get me wrong, I know they'll not going to rival a full ICE install with a few quid thrown at it but I think in recent years the quality has improved. I'd not be fussed about the system having a 'brand', at the end of the day it'll be made by some kind of audio company anyway, I just want something thats decent enough for daily use and can cope without being cranked up a bit. :D

Check VW website configuration STD spec and options listing. The audio option upgrade is very good and has many YouTube positive reviews. £550 and worth having.

  • Well picked up my new car today... a Leon Cupra Initial verdict.... F**K its quick!! (of course it would be after a Citigo)

  • My R arrived on Friday along with my Dad's GTI!  Didn't even know there was a part two to this thread so have missed 9 pages!

We had the Dynaudio option & are quite happy with the result, FWIW Adaptive Cruise was std. on our Mk7 & still is in the Mk 7.5.

Europe not sure if UK will be the same.

Speed restrictor removed similar to Audi RS3 155 > 167 mph.

I'm told by my local dealer who does discount via Orangewheels and Carwow, that you can only spec the R Exhaust option for the manual and the Performance Pack is only offered on the DSG as an option as well as R Exhaust.

Why is that I wonder, is it only allowed to have the higher speed available on the DSG higher torque version.

JT Wills, YouTube who lives nearby to me.

Shows what a great all round package the Golf R mk7 truly is. Shame no manual option for me. But I did love my R Estate whilst I had it.

When getting quotes on Carwow and drive the deal, there is an option of selecting the performance pack but it does not mention the Titanium exhaust?

Is it the full monty as per the video of the performance pack?

I was able to select on either manual or DSG builds too.

Ben,

If you go onto www.vw.co.uk select the new Golf R mk7.5.If you select engine and DSG then go to Extras you will see the Performance Pack option is Shown and also the R Exhaust. However select the Engine with 6peed manual then Extras the Performance Pack is excluded and all you get is the R Exhaust.

That was exactly what the Orangewheels  Dealership Sales Exec told me.

Check it out.

Golf R mk7.5 current sales?

A quick review of dealership verses Discounter on price /discount.

Good example is part of the Swansway Group, VW  dealership e.g. VW Wrexham and VW Crewe who have very good stock mix currently.

After 2 weeks this month, of the first main month of sales heading towards month end target ,then their VW prices have started to be discounted by between 5% > 6% typical . View their YouTube adverts.

Orangewheels are giving approx. 11% discount dependent on spec.

Both the above are based on a cash deal.

If you elect to go PCP then a £1000 contribution is available.

Note the rate of interest in the offer .

Golf R mk7 Estate DSG above around Nurburgring and below Golf R mk7  manual. Interesting times on a similar sort of day.

ALso Focus RS mk3 Interesting to observe the different driving characteristics  of drivers and cars from within.

So the Swansway sales team are really pushing via YouTube. So how many new stock have they sold. Oh its nearing month end. More discount to be had, just hold off a while imo. PX values off less than 18month old mk7 are deliberately being supressed

Good familiarisation  review by a Mr Joe Blogs on a Rmk 7.5 DSG.

Nearly got taken out by someone in a limestone grey Golf R the other night in Rugby, think they had stolen it by the way they flung it sideways through a set of red lights in excess of 60-70 mph in a 30mph zone!

This was after coming up behind me on a bend sideways locked up solid, sliding to avoid hitting me; they just got out past me after scrubbing off some of the speed, narrowly missing an on-coming car then up to the red lights for the rest of thier antics......I almost messed myself thinking if they didn't take me out they were going to take someone else out at the junction but by shear luck the junction was clear thankfully.

Should have some dash cam coverage when I get home and download it.

Ben,

Got your movie yet for full display to all. Identification of idiot to authority and a warning .

due back to sunny Devon later today :)

It'll probably end up being a GTD, as it happened so quickly ;)

Dammed blast and shucks...knew I should of switched off the camera to save the footage ....just gone through and it's overwritten it, as I have done another 350 plus miles since it happened on Wednesday night and only got a small SD card; as put the larger capacity card it used to have into my daughter's dash cam last time she was down.

Sorry...all I can say is I'm amazed there were no incidents reported that night as they drove as if they had stolen it. I was looking for the police car following, thinking they must be being chased to take ludicrous chances going through a blind junction on red.

I believe that a number of owners of Golf R mk7 have done this mod as well as the R mk7.5 below.

If enhanced sound is your thing.
