C63, no wait an M2, oh hang on, a C7 Corvette, no no that's not it, a 911 maybe, or a Caymen as that's a relative of the 911 so counts as one choice depending on which car is availed, perhaps an M3/4,

  • luckily I bought a current 30-50k car when it was £14k in 2007 , couldn't afford something like this now...  I bloomin love it ..  Its somewhat changed from when I bought it ..

Alfa 4C ? Here

XKR ? Here

Or the absoloutley gorgeous Maserati Gran Tursimo Here

It was the XKR that got me thinking initially. Saw a V8 XFR locally 505hp for £37k looked like something to ponder for later.

currently daily driver is a Mustang GT Premium V8. Autotrader.com has zero milers from about $32k. LHD, 435bhp, launch control. Driving it is an event whenever you want it to be, and with the exchange rate at the moment, its seriously cheap, and you can get it serviced at Ford dealers in the UK.

Do you find it wide? I know the mags keep going on about it's width, but I thought it wasn't any wider than something like a Medium Transit van?

Had more thoughts..

Challenger or a Charger if it was yank tank. Preferably an old one though thats been properly restored to handle a little better..

Shelby Cobra - yes please, in blue.

It doesnt feel wide in the MidWest!

I think the proposed budget is £100000 short of a Cobra.

The Mustang gives you 95% of the performance the exotic Euro options give, but with cheap servicing too. I cant believe how I've fallen for it - even the looks which last year I didnt get - but in race red it's gorgeous.

whats the interior like on the 'stang?

Not much point in spending all your money on a car that only looks good from the outside.

I forgot about the Noble. Is that company still going. Ford based engine as I recall.

I'm of the era that watched The Dukes of Hazzard so an Orange Charger with the non-Pc paint scheme is ingrained into my brain along with the sound of a 7l V8.

I do love the sound of those old Muscle cars but suspect driving it in real life might not be so pleasent. 70s muscle cars are fetching some pretty serious money as well.

TVR, Love a Cerbera but whats the parts situation like on them? I read somewhere that you can't get replacement glass for a Griffith any more.

Mustang Premium has standard black perforated leather heated and cooled power seats, higher quality leather in a few different colours is available, as are Recaros. Decent 9 or 12 Speaker media system and pretty nice trim, customisable guage/ambient/kickplate lighting. Various 18 to 20 wheel options - plus the Ford Performance / Ford Racing calalogues to trawl through. I think the Sports catback exhaust at around $1500 would be a must for me.

Have a look at Ford.com "Build and Price" to see all the factory options and gallery.

Mildly embarrassed to say I really like Bumblebee  :

It seems the latest Camaro is the first ever with decent build quality too. I still prefer the retro looks of the Challenger though.

Ariel Atom.

That is all.

Friend of mine has a purple Griffith - I'd better warn him not to bin it!

Well I got that being semi-retired though it is very tame compared to the illustrious company mentioned!

But it is nice to drive, especially with the roof down.

Bit different to the Yeti!

Its somewhat changed from when I bought it .. :)

Lotus make or did have a car that was basically a Road legal race car. It only had a half height windscreen, don't think it even had doors that worked. I'm sure you had to get in like a proper racing car. I'm sure it didn't even have roof and no option to buy one either. No idea what it's called though lol, so not much use.

For a weekend toy, very little can beat an Elise - I've had four. Surprisingly practical (which is why I wouldn't get an Atom), I've driven 750 miles back from the Austrian Alps before in a day with no problems. Amazing on track, astoundingly good on a B road and possible to use as a daily driver.

The Evora S is also a fantastic car, Evo rated the n/a one above the Skyline at the time as a drivers car.

I've currently got a 4.5AJP Cerbera. Little can touch it for driving experience, it sounds bonkers, it is bonkers! Also incredibly practical & comfy. I switched as I needed a 2+2 and decided a 911 was a bit boring. Parts availability is fine, some extremely good and reasonably priced garages too. V8 engines are robust but a rebuilt engine isn't cheap and a renovated chassis is £8k. Costly to run and they will go wrong but in my opinion the Cerbera is a thing of beauty, a proper sportscar with looks to match.
