Are these possible with VCDS on O3 MY2016 ?

Featured Replies

Afternoon folks :)

I'm currently toying with the idea of getting a genuine ross-tech cable - as it's personal use, i'd probably only ever use it on my own car, so the 10 VIN option is a bit overkill, and need some help to make up my mind. The problem is, that I have no issues paying someone to make changes, and travelling - regularly travel with work anyway, my problem is that i'm a bit of a geek, and having a particularly addictive nature, if I started changing things, I wouldnt be happy with a list of 2, 3, 4 things, etc and that'd be the end, i'm far more of a tinkerer.

The issue is a bit more diluted - I dont need the cable for any bog-standard OBD functions - I have a custom Android app I wrote for the daily-grind stuff... so purely for coding - given enough time, I could maybe modify my app to do what I need to - time vs effort vs results in that instance probably isnt worth it.

What I want to do, but need confirmation they work are....

1. Traffic Sign Recognition

2. HBA

3. Passenger Side Mirror drop on reverse

4. Battery Voltage display

5. 'Driving School' display mode on MIB2

6. Disable the f***** AM band on the radio !

7. DRL Flash out of phase with indicators

Other things I would like the option of having

A. Change the lower speed threshold for Lane Assist - currently just around 38 - 39mph, but think it would be useful at 28 - 29mph

B. Change the Start/Stop from 'press to disable' to 'press to enable'

C. Have ESC in Sport ESC by default

D. The 'off-road' screen from the Sup3 - just for the hell of having the display show something interesting when I dont need / get bored with maps...

E. The 'Driving Profile' display on the maxi-dot as per the Sup3 adaptions

I have a Octavia vRS mk3, IIRC, wk27/2015, it's definitely a MY2016 with MIB2.

On top of the factory fitted options like lane-assist, etc...

- Front Parking Sensors

- Colour Maxidot

- Amunsden

Hopefully someone can give a yes/no on points 1 - 7 on a vRS with similar kit, and experience on success or failure for A - E - assumptions can be made and theorised with good justification :)

Hope someone can sort this out and justify one way or another :)

1. Traffic Sign Recognition - YES

2. HBA - YES

3. Passenger Side Mirror drop on reverse - YES

4. Battery Voltage display -YES IF YOU MEAN SOC

5. 'Driving School' display mode on MIB2 - YES

6. Disable the f***** AM band on the radio ! - YES

7. DRL Flash out of phase with indicators - YES

Other things I would like the option of having

A. Change the lower speed threshold for Lane Assist - currently just around 38 - 39mph, but think it would be useful at 28 - 29mph - YES

B. Change the Start/Stop from 'press to disable' to 'press to enable' - NO

C. Have ESC in Sport ESC by default - NO

D. The 'off-road' screen from the Sup3 - just for the hell of having the display show something interesting when I dont need / get bored with maps... - SHOULD WORK - DEPENDS ON HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REVISONS

E. The 'Driving Profile' display on the maxi-dot as per the Sup3 adaptions - MAYBE, IT WORKS ON SOME DEPENDING ON CONTROLLER HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REVISIONS

  • 2 weeks later...

I've seen someone in Australia here has enabled door autolocking when the key moves away from the car and the doors are shut. I hired a RS Megane last week that did that and it was great. They did it with OBDeleven though and haven't seen the settings needed to do it via VCDS?

I haven't seen any options for adjusting the speed that lane assist works on....

I wouldn't mind mine increasing so it doesn't work on quick A roads but only on the motorway. Say speeds above 61mph.

Andy?

It is there as I have adjusted mine. Can't remember if it is on the A5 camera or 09 BCM
