Top Gear Starts Sunday BBC2, 20.00hrs

Overall this week I'd say I was bored. Chris Harris is fitting the role nicely, he's probably the only one that is to be honest. The Vulcan was nuts, very impressive. Have to agree with VRS Mike above, the challenges just aren't up to scratch, rushed, poorly edited and dull as dishwater. I don't give a monkey's nut if a chef can spatchcock a chicken in a car on the move.

Extra Gear is slowly becoming a bag of balls, turned it off after ten minutes.

Last week was good, maybe it was the actual content and production that was at fault this week...time will tell if things really are on the up. I still think there's promise there they just need to be brave and try something new, which will probably end up being very old. I think the producers need to have a box set binge on Fifth Gear for some ideas...

For all the sneering (not on here, mostly in the comments section of the Guardian and elsewhere), some expressing a dislike of Evans or LeBlanc etc etc, I'm really looking forward to watching a beauti

  • No one.   Just leave it to Chris Harris, Sabine and Rory.   No need for doing stupid things and blowing up stuff. That's what Clarkson, Hammond and May do and you are never going to replicate the

Kids bought me an amazon fire stick for fathers day.

I think the show is still finding it's feet. The amount of editing required in the feature items leads me to think that they will have been edited or partially edited quite a while ago and so they might not be able to change those parts until the next series. For me some of the production values are pretty good and some nicely graded video was apparent throughout last nights show :) The content is still a bit patchy and Chris Evans still shouts too much, but Matt LeBlanc is proving to be quite a character. Bearing in mind how awful Clarkson was a the beginning, I'd say Matt is already ahead of him in that sense..

I will continue to watch it and to be honest, I am enjoying it, even if not as much as the old TG (at least not yet...)

I'm not a fan of the silly challenge with the chefs - but some of the challenges at the end of Clarkson's last series of TG weren't much better.

SIARCC doesn't do it for me either. I think Evans can be a better interviewer too so maybe it's something about the format.

Also Eddie Jordan acting a character isn't good. To a certain extent I imagine Matt is doing the same, but he's actually an actor so he can pull it off.

I tuned in halfway through last night, and the second half was better than the first. But overall still not as good as last week's.

Starting to enjoy the series and very much impressed with the cinematic like experience those intrepid folk at the beeb are employing!  Chris Evans's continually animated demeanour is still spoiling the show for me. Sabine just seems a little to uncomfortable when not in a vehicle while the other folk are starting to develop into what could be a promising future for the series. Lets hope this continues to be.

Yeah Matt is good, especially out on the road and he is a funny guy, the hanger stuff is all still a bit awkward and wooden though for most of them. Like I said I think it was more the content (mainly another poor challenge and that God awful celebs in a mini section) that let it down for me this week those 2 elements need a serious revamp.

I'd be happy with just Chris Harris and Sabine.

I would not be surprised if those that are producing the 'Wine Show' do not do a Car Show.

Even on a subject that does not interest me i am hooked.

I haven't tuned in since the new series started, is it worth watching? Or shall I use my time wisely?

I'd be happy with just Sabine to be honest, three's a crowd.

First show was pretty awful but it's steadily improved.

I'll stand by what I said, that it'll take a couple of series to find it's feet not just 6 shows.

They'll have lost all the experience of the guys that thought up the challenges. TG at it's best with challenges was when it did things like the Arctic challenge, Africa or the Bolivia one.

I remember the boating one being quite funny but they were often more of a hit than a miss anyway.

I think you need to cut Sabine some slack since she is presenting in a second language but generally I think she's at her best just being her nutty self behind a wheel.

Maybe next year they could just ditch the Stig and use Jensen Button if he's loses his seat in F1.

you mean he isn't already the Stig ?

I really don't give a **** who is wearing the white overalls. I never did.

The beeb are only keeping him as a way to sell Stig annuals and Stig bubble bath to kids.

Completely agree with what you said about the challenges there. I'll make sure I give the new series a chance.

I think make it the "Matt and Sabine" show and we could be on a winner.

I assumed Coulthard was the Stig

Sure I saw him in promotional tg photos

I've not been reading this topic so don't know if this pet hate of mine has been mentioned before - but I just know they'll do it multiple times tonight.

.....and that pet hate is the person being featured in the upcoming VT session clapping themselves at the beginning and also at the end of it's screening! :wall:

I thought Rolls Royces were supposed to be flashy...idiot.

It's like criticising espresso for being a strong cup of coffee.

This week's episode has made my TV torretes kick in. I notice the trip to Geneva in 13 hours included time for a wash and polish, nice car, and the old dude is a bit of a legend but what a load of old flannel.

That mini **** in the middle goes on for way too long, I don't understand the combination of guests, the course is **** with only 4 corners, and I hate the way Evans makes his guests read auto - cue to introduce each other and sits back all smug like he's really clever, pilchard. Getting a bit bored of waiting for this balls up to find its feet.

I hope they follow the suggestions above and we end up with Harris, Matt and Sabine. I could tolerate Chris Evans but I'm slowly finding him more nauseating. I fear I'll be voting with the standby button soon...yyyyaaaaawwwwnnnnn

Introduced the RR cornice as 1976... but it is on a 1979 plate?

Or is the BRX 522T anything to do with Brexit?

I noticed that numberplate.

I think it's unfortunate timing to schedule a programme with an election and that numberplate in a week when I think it's fair to say the country isn't universally happy about the events of the last week.

I imagine the numberplate is no more deliberate than the one Clarkson took to Argentina, but I suspect TG will attract criticism for it.

I think Matt suited that review more than anything he's done so far, his slow talking style matched the car more IMHO. They seamed to have turned Chris' mic up again which is a shame.

Can we lock Evans in his dressing room for episode 6, and see if anyone even notices, never mind complains?

In any event, the correct answer to "best Rolls Royce" since the "Silver Shadow" was introduced was always "the one with the Bentley badge and radiator shell".

I'm starting to really not like Chris and I only managed to watch the last 10 minutes.

Is it worth going back on iplayer to quickly go through the rest or not bother?
