Vrs Estate - Meteor or Quartz Grey?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone. Heading back from New Zealand and getting a vrs estate. Previously had a black fabia then an octavia vrs blackline - all black. Feel I have to have a more 'grown up' less gangster looking model. Never been a fan of red and the race blue is too common where I live. Which grey looks better? Does the black package add anything? Cheers!

No brainer! Meteor + black pack! ;-). Ha

Quartz as it is metallic. Black pack grille (black rather than chrome) looks much better imo.

My MK2 was anthracite and was lovely when clean. Now have MK3 Estate in Meteor Grey with black pack plus, and it doesn't look half as bad when dirty :p

If you are getting a vrs then I would go with Meteor as its exclusive to the vrs. Quartz looks stunning but is popular across the range.

Meteor is actually lighter as really they just lacquer over the primer - therefore faster and more fuel efficient  :D

My 230 will be Meteor Grey with a Panoramic Sunroof.

I'm waiting for the " Why haven't they painted it " comments

Damn need to research more

Which one looks best? Ha! that one will go on forever  :notme:  They have a very different look and it will all come down to what look you want to get

Quartz (metal) grey is a very smart 'classic' colour and it changes with the light, some days a bit blue, some days a bit green, reminds me a bit of the colours used on the old BMW Alpinas. The sort of colour that can make a cheap car look expensive!

Meteor grey has grown on me, bit of an acquired taste, it is the no-messing stealth colour like the old 'anti-radar' paint of a few decades ago. Looks like you don't need to worry about what it looks like - sort of factory finished rat-look

I'd have one of each depending on my mood  :D

I wouldn't have a clue which one to get as I like them both.

Would probably go for Meteor, but that's only coz my wife's Mk3 Golf was very close to Quartz.

I'd have thought quartz would be easier to live with long term.

Only so you can join the 230 club.................

Quartz every time.

To me the meteor looks a bit chavvy.

I'm on the same boat... Quite funny because I have said that myself more than once before :)

I've got a Quartz Grey VRS, just over a month old. I thought Meteor Grey looked ugly at first, but as time has gone on - I wish I'd got it! Looks really different and cool IMO.

I saw an audi rs3 in what looked like meteor grey. Seems it's exactly the same but called nardo grey
