What tyres are they fitting from new?

Featured Replies

A question for new owners... what tyres are Skoda currently fitting to the Superb with 235/45 18" wheels?

The car that Skoda lent me for test was fitted with Hankook Ventus; these were somewhat noisy and had poor grip in the wet.

(My new car is about four weeks away)

My car with the same size wheels, delivered in mid Jan has Pirelli tyres

Mine came with the hankooks on i find them pretty good now they are scrubbed in.i dont stuggle for grip but i have 4x4 so not an issue for me

Mine came with Continental Sport Contact 5's. On 18" SEL wheels.

On my SE Business - with smaller wheels and tyres - they supplied it with Falken tyres, made in Thailand.

The slightest hint of a damp surface and there is no grip. They don't exactly inspire confidence.

A serious case of cost-cutting, I believe.

Mine came with Pirelli P7s but that was 12 months ago.

still Pirelli P7 for 235/40/19 built in February 2017

Pretty sure it's Pirelli P7s on my SE Technology Estate with standard 17s.

17's... Conti Contact Premiums

It is a lucky dip on which brand of tyres will be fitted at any time, depends on which delivery has reached the factory and the line where the tyres go onto the wheels and the wheels onto the vehicle.

Pirellis on 19" for mine

Conti Sport Contact 5's on 18" for mine too.

hankooks on my 18" Modus wheels - 190 DSG SEL Exec, estate. Given the variance not sure if the trim level/engine/wheel style are making the difference in tyre make?

Conti Sport 5s as well on mine.  Seems to be one of the more popular fittings.  Not a bad tyre all round but will probably change to something else when the time comes.  There are quieter tyres out there.

Pirrelli P7 cinturato on my 2016 190 SE L estate with 19" alloys.

My L&K estate came with Hankooks.

After having the car for only a week I managed to pick up a puncture (thank you Storm Doris). As it was on the "shoulder" of the tyre it can't be repaired so a new tyre is needed. So thats £135 for 150 miles travelled.

I viewed my L&K ready for collection on March 1st. It is fitted with Conti Sport 5s, which is a relief - don't think I would be happy with Hankooks.

As others have said when I come to change them will probably go for something a bit quieter - probably Michelins.

I'd be interested to see what tyres are coming on the 280's as they are most in need of performance rubber.

280 comes with the hankooks or whatever they have in stock - nothing special. Anyway, why are folk here saying they are bad in the wet? what's better on the 18' rims?

Came with hankooks ventus prime 2, 190 tdi manual, produced mid january received at dealer in feb 2017. I feel they are kinda noisy but only used them on minus temperature and they are summer profile tyre... will see.

I got 17" Falken ZE914A Ecorun which is developed to be OEM for VW Passat.

Picked my SE L up last week and came with Pirelli P7s on 235/45 18 inch rims

My 280 L&K, built December 2016, came with ContiSport 5s on 18" wheels.

Mine is a 2015  estate (DSG) came with Pirelli P7 cinturato on a 19" wheel.  Nearly on 28,000 and still life in them. Hold the road well wet or dry.

Many thanks for the answers and pics.  Seems like it's a lucky dip.

Just hope I get lucky.
