This is starting to look like the Con and Liebour supporters are doing "handbags at dawn". Perhaps this thread should be locked?

Yes, it is getting quite disrespectful now. Please remember this is an open forum and for all you know someone who has injured or lost family in this attack could be reading this thread.

Indeed - some people on here seem to have a very blinkered and selective view and memory...

US have leaked UK intelligence documents.

Very poor show from one of the 5 eyes.

Unless it was sanctioned form the very top someone across the pond will be getting a proper kicking this morning

Some director of news on a TV News Report this morning will be getting a serious talking to i would think for running a news report on the Device and what happened to the body and limbs of the suicide bomber.

No idea if Sky or BBC because i just caught it by ear and was not able to see the TV screen.

This was on the news at a time before children might be going to school this morning.

Totally disgusted by UKIP further stirring up tensions at such a difficult time.

Quite clear they are simply the new BNP rather than seeking to look after British interests and bring Britain together.

When your political opponents adopt your policies you have to become a bit more 'right' than they are.

All Government, Labour, Conservative & Con-Dem have failed, and the opposition parties at the time aided them in failing by opposing many many things.

So there is no point blaming Home Secretaries or any other members of a Cabinet, just blame the Governments for the past decades.

Labour need to be a strong opposition, rather than go off on a Marxist crusade to let everyone sit at home on the dole and let the unions run the country.

Sorry to say that only the Tories look like a safe bet at stability and keeping brexit agreeable for both remainers and leavers

I don't see how going for a very hard brexit is going to be in any way acceptable for those that wanted to remain.

True, but there's no other credible alternatives.

That's a very debatable subject and one for another thread, but largely irrelevant now as the conservatives are likely to win and even if the polls are wrong, labour will do the same.

Political debate aside.... dragging this back on topic, mistakes were clearly made by security services probably due to cuts, etc, but they are at least covering ground now and doing their utmost to get on top of the aftermath. Thats of no consolation to the victims and families, really but at least its happening. Would probably be going better if the dumbnuts across the atlantic could keep their mouths shut for 5mins though.

The City of Manchester appears to be rallying itself quite well, and showing a strong cross community response to this tragedy. This is the correct, if seemingly counter-intuitive way to handle such an event, as it sucks more momentum from the perpetrators hopeful outcomes of dividing and causing the hostilities they feed from. Keep it up Manchester, show grief, show anger, but show a community bond beyond race/religion divides.

It's all too easy to let something sidetrack the thread but maybe now is time to keep it on track as @mac11irl suggests.

Love the Modus Operandi - wait 'til 22 dead, 60 injured, some with life limiting injuries, then sweep-up the whole network in a week - how about doing it before the event - "Because we're worth it".  Seems to me that HMG are placing the rights of socio/pyschopaths above those of the ordinary population. If you havem't got the intelligence in advance, for the known 3,000,  just pull - 'em randomly for detention - somewhere nice like Gruinard.

The do Gooders will never let that happen. It's exactly the same with drug dealers and gang members, the police know who they are, but cannot arrest them due to lack of evidence.

Yup they go all mental at the mention of the powers needed to monitor these individuals like getting the encryption keys for the apps criminals and would be terrorists are using which cannot be monitored by security services to prevent things happening.
