Rain Sensor Issues

Featured Replies

HELP, my intermittent wipe didn't work and neither did the rain sensor. It just wiped once and then didn't anymore, a flick to the next speed triggered another wipe but that was it.

Garage fitted a new sensor under warranty and although the intermittent wipe now works, the rain sensor and rain closing functions don't. Been back to the garage FOUR times and they are still scratching their heads, they've even sent a technical query to SKODA which didn't appear to help either.

We've gone through all the settings and it's ticked in the MFD it just refuses to respond.

Anyone had a similar issue or can anyone with VCDS close to Washington, Tyne and Wear help?

Is this one of those situations that can be resolved by disconnecting the battery for 30(?) minutes?.

drop briskodian planehzza a pm, he's the latest VCDs and is not far for you travel over to Wallsend

The VCDs will show if there are any faults and you can also get the MPH digital fix, teardrop wipe etc for a few beer tokens

;)

I did just that and this weekend he sorted all my issues and gave me some new toys to play with. Thanks to planehazza for the top job and Halford for pointing me in the right direction.

Couple of beer tokens and my car is fault free, sorted and does new exciting stuff.

I'm a happy Briskodian.

Thanks guys, appreciated :) Glad you're both happy with the tweaks!

They are in my signature but in no particular order;

5 x flash for lane change indicator, I always thought 3 was too few.

Flashing brake lights on emergency stop, highly visible as I have LED brake lights.

Big MPH in the MFD display, saves looking at MPG and worrying when I get a little too heavy with the right slipper.

Teardrop wipe on both front and rear wipers after washing.

Needle staging or, "ignition celebration" as it's now called. Needles sweep on ignition switch on.

You can also have others; Lights on automatically if you exceed 90, it will depend on the model, a lot of stuff I can already do from the MFD like alarm chirp, different door unlocking, cornering lights, coming home and leaving lights, tunnel lights, rain closing of windows and roof, etc.

I'm really looking to get 2 rear fogs now though, the bulb is there so I presume the wiring is.

Apparently, my Yeti is a bit of an oddball to quote the dealer and Skoda. It is a 63 but with mostly 14 exterior and options and a half and half 63/14 interior...!!!

For instance; full LED brake and rear lights, 2014 type Bi-xenons, 2014 version 5 Haldex all wheel drive which are all 2014 spec also with a 2014 front end but a 2013 (63) head unit for the in car stuff. It also doesn't have the MDI for an iPod and the Aux port is in the centre console not under the head unit as it would be in a 2014.

Don't ask, I've no idea.

Auto Park wipers is a good, key off wipers park correctly

^ ^ ^ no loom fitted for that, you'll need to install one, I did it with a 2 way switch cos at the time I was here a la frog and in the uk so could swap light sides, - apparently the type approval only requires one on the offside again cos if 2 in operation and the offside fails there is the chance of a rear ender! Come on guys, where does that thinking come from? methinks Brussels!

I'm no auto electrician but there is wiring to the disabled fog and a bulb already there.

Ok, I stand corrected, my original Adventure had a bulb fitted, but when having a tow bar installed there wasn't a cable at the rear of the light fitting ie feeding the male multiplug, hence my comment re fitting one  -  the general concencus at the time was a money saving measure as the looms are specific for either lhd or rhd and not to cover both!

I've had a quick look and it looks like the wiring is the same both sides, maybe I'm just lucky as my Yeti is a bodge it and scarper model that encompasses 63 and 14 options and kit.
