Heated Seats - not very hot

Featured Replies

Just wondering how other people's heated seats are in terms of heat.

I've had cars before where the heat would burn the a**** off you at full setting so you need to turn it down /off after about 5 mins.

In the Superb my seat does get "warm" right away but could be warmer. Best described as "lukewarm"!    Is this common?  I've got leather seats in the L&K.

Honestly, it's maybe even much more healthier ;-)Too hot, no kids ;)

Anyway, having L&K as well, currently it is outside about 10 degrees and using heating on 1st level only.

As well it depends on your dressing...

I too have an L&K and have noticed the seats don't get as hot as they mid on my Mk3 vRS.

Which to be honest is a good think, i couldn't use the heated seats on the Octy above lvl 1.

The lowest setting on my seat is hot enough for me. I tried it at the highest setting, but that was way too hot. I'll give it another try if we ever get sub-zero in London.

The front seats in my L&K are definitely not as warm as those in my previous Passat and Golf. The kids tell me the rear seats are plenty warm though.

My heated seats get hot very quickly and are unbearable on the highest setting after a few minutes.  Definitely no less than any of the older Superbs I've had.  Remember clothing has a huge impact on perceived heat also.  Jeans or other firm/thick clothing might give the impression that less heat is coming through.  Same applies when using the cooled function.

I must agree that these seats on my L&K are the coldest heated seats I have had on any of the cars I have owned.  They go luke warm, have never had them on the cooler settings as I doubt I would feel any heat.

I wonder if they reduce the heat on leather clad seats and leave it hot on the fabric??  Does anyone know?

Since heated seats show up as a "Convenience consumer" in the "CAR" menu is there a possibility that there is an undocumented link with the air con - if it's set to "eco" then also reduced seat heating?

Temperatures have been between 5 and 10 degrees where I am and mine get to a heat I like after about 10 minutes then I turn it off. I only really use them until the cold is taken out of the leather. I notice it's not as fast to heat up as my previous Volvo though.

I was using it with the ventilated seats yesterday after I got wet in the rain. It seemed to take away from some of the heat but did a fairly decent job of drying me out and stopped me sticking to the seat.

I'll be putting it to the test in a few months time in sub zero temps.

my driver's seat gets unbearable to sit on after about 10 mins on high setting.

low-medium is plenty sufficient for me, if i do use it......which is hardly!

haven't tried the passenger or rear seats to see if these are any different.

Noticed the sportline seats aren't as good as the MK3 VRS heated seats anyway. To me they feel like they're more padded though so it might make a difference. Also they're alcantara as opposed to cloth which may dissapate some of the heat.

I notice the difference most higher up the seat.

Thanks for the replies.  Seems that the leather L&K seats just arent as hot as some others.

Still nice in these ever colder mornings though!

  • 2 weeks later...

My seats don't get very hot and I can't tell a difference in any of the settings either. The temp remains the same.

The heated leather seats on my Yeti had three settings: "Rare", "Medium" & "Well Done".  You could really tell the difference between settings. So I don't think the leather causes problems
