It's called reading and searching on the forum

Or, when all else fails, remove the clusters and make up your own list, I don't know about the current Fabia, but the current VW Polo has a few differences especially wrt the front cluster bulb requirements.  If you do that you have the bonus of actually having worked out how to remove these clusters, which in itself is not a bad thing!

Speaking of bulbs.

I noticed that the manual tells you how to replace every bulb except the indicator bulb in the wing mirror?

Does anybody know how this is done?

Guess you remove the mirror and replace it from within?

As I recall - it's an L.E.D, so shouldn't need changing. And if it does go faulty, it's probably a little module, or an item which should be reparable by someone any way adept with a soldering iron !!   Anyone seen the inside of mirror unit?

I've read that it's wy5w bulbs in them?

And you can see an orange tint trough the glass.

That is why I want to change them, I want chrome bulbs. X)

The mirror indicator is indeed an LED bulb. Maybe it's even welded on the PCB

I have checked a little closer and it's definitely not LED.

You can clearly see the wy5w bulb inside the glass.

You can even see the filament inside the bulb x)

It's hard to take a picture of it, but you can still se it's a light bulb.

Ahh - you are flippin right ! It is a bulb. Sorry, man.

Just did a slo-mo video of it and it's very slow turning on and off - compared to a (known !) LED on slo-mo .

And t0m3k86 had this post in July 2015 - and identified it as "Side indicator" - and has, as you say - a WY5W ..

The part number for the lamp module  - if anyone ever gets one broken -- is 6V0949101 for the left side, and 6V0949102 for the right side. They're around St£10.

( Here's one ebay advert : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-SKODA-LEFT-HAND-MIRROR-INDICATOR-LAMP-LIGHT-6V0949101-/381737826076?epid=594564876&hash=item58e158f71c:g:tfQAAOSwaeRZHxf7  )

Nice finding!

But the question remains, how do you change the bulb? :P

Guess I'll just remove a mirror and see what it looks like inside.

@matt_black_90 Gold star for you !

Thanks matt_b. Great post. Great info.

Legends for adding all the info to the post!!

I'll be making a superskoda order for some other bits before I tackle a full led conversion. Does anyone know of any discounts for superskoda?

Has anyone ordered from them, did you have any trouble or additional charges

Are standard headlamp dipped beam bulbs H4 or H7 ? I've found posts that mention both

Some headlamp units have 2 x H4 bulbs -on the S and SE.

Some headlamp units have 4 x H7 bulbs with the LED side/DLR bulbs- the SEL.

You can upgrade from the 2 x H4 to the 4 x H7 with the LED side/DLR bulbs on some models.

So both can be standard on a Fabia III.

Thanks AG Falco

Nice Post

I followed the Instructions. Thought at one time I was going to crack the mirror, pressure I was putting on the latches seemed excessive. Finally got the Head Shell off then the real fun began 😂

Taking the old unit with Bulb out was super easy. When I went to fit the unit I'd bought from eBay,it was a nightmare. Looked and felt like it was made of Peanut Brittle. I guess that's what happens when you buy cheap. All done now everything back in place.

Thanks for the Photos and info.
