So I take it that I download to my PC the file from the link kindly provided by MartiniB and then copy that file from my PC to a clean SD card and then plug that into my Columbus?!

Any hints or tips will be gratefully received :)

Copy the file to a PC first - you can use a Mac but unzipping leaves spurious files that the Columbus does not like, if so search the forum for solutions to that.

Unzip it to an empty 32gb SD card, put the card in one of the slots in the glove box, switch the Columbus on then press  "Menu"> "Settings"> "System Information"> "Update software".

You need to leave the Columbus switched on while this is happening. You can have the ignition on with everything else switched off, or connect a battery charger, or have the ignition off and just press the power button on the Columbus and it will remain on for about 1 hour. The update can take several hours (MIB1). I believe the MIB2 is quicker. If the unit is switched off, it will remember where it got to and just carry on until it is complete. You can drive around with it updating but navigation is unavailable until it is finished.

Thanks, I had to download a program to unzip the file in the link on my PC and then copy it to my SSD.

Would this work on my 2009 Superb columbus system? Currently have V14 maps.

No, wrong maps for your system. However, you're still on the latest version for that machine.

It's starting to surface here and there in fiction, but in reality I've not seen it yet. It's not listed with a price in Etka so dealers are unable to order it yet.

v15 Western Europe is available, I've just installed it. (CD_8015).

Wrong Columbus, this thread is about MIB units, not the older RNS-510 ;)

Thankyou langers2k. However, I believe the previous four posts back to Kebab10 all refer to RNS510 units too.

Hi all,

I have problem with map update.

I tried with maps from skoda server and maps from this page. When I insert SD in columbus mesage appears that SD card with software update is inserted. When I try to update I got error that there is no update on media?
