VAG-COM Software tweaks

Featured Replies

Has anyone used the VAG-COM software on the Karoq or Kodiaq? Basically, I had a couple of tweaks done to my Fabia that I would like doing on my new Karoq (coming in April) but wondered how I would need to direct the dealer's service technician to the right section in the software to activate the following:-

1. AUDIBLE BEEPS WHEN LOCKING/UNLOCKING CAR PLUS INDICATORS & LIGHTS FLASH.
2. SPEEDOMETER & TACHOMETER NEEDLES “ROTATE ROUND THEN BACK” ON STARTUP.

Any advice welcome! Thanks.

It is the audible beep part of that first option that will need to be activated. Many dealers wont turn on the audible beep it as it is considered illegal/in contravention of noise directives and legislation. In Europe, the default coding is  always now for it to be off.

Well Jedi Master, the force may be with you but we are talking about dealers and the dark side.

The best you get might be.....

Out of interest when did the legislation stop that then?

My 2015 Yeti has the beep and flashing indicators. I bought it new and it came like that.

So did my 2010 Yeti.

And the wife 2008 Rooster for that matter.

Thinking about it though, my 2014 TT and wife's 2010 Mini only flashes the indicators, no beep.

It's not too loud on the Yeti though, so not intrusive.

Any success with VCDS tweaking on the Karoq?

want to know too

I see Carly offer coding for VAG http://www.mycarly.com/product/vag-app/

I use their BMW kit and it's pretty good.

For the price of the Carly kit I think I’d stick with the obdeleven.

Its a dedicated VAG tool and allows coding.

I’ll be having a play soon to see what can be done on the Karoq.

Was wondering about the Parking Assistance System vs the Manoeuvre Assist. Is it possible to activate it with VCDS or is there some hardware involved also which is not present on vehicles with front+rear sensors and Manoeuvre Assist?

You cant just activate park assist.

You need the button on the dash to turn it on.

So you mean that with park assist you've got additional hardware which is not present when I've got front and rear sensors + manoeuvre assist? I've got lane assist also which turns the steering wheel.

The blank space next to the stop/start button is the park assist one.

You probably have all the body sensors required but I dont know what else is required.
