Obdeleven and Octavia MK3 FL

Featured Replies

I have an SEL 1.5 DSG hatch and I am wondering if I should order obdeleven.  ( I blame Sasha's posts for this ! )

I know that changes were made on the facelift model so I am trying to find out what others with the facelift model and obdeleven have managed to alter.

The things I would like are needle sweep, fan speed displayed in auto, rear lights on with DLR, turn signal to 5 flashes and refuel level in maxidot.

Any help very welcome.

You can do all of that and more. It’s detailed in the document I linked in Shasha’s thread.

It's a very handy bit of kit to have for various tweaks, retrofit coding and fault code scanning. Doesn't cost that much either. Recommended from me! :)

Hey, I’m already blamed for everything at home and in work. Can I not have somewhere where everything isn’t my fault??? Please? ;)

Yes Sahsa cost me £85 as well.

What!! I’m gunna have get hold of these companies and charge them commission! :D

She only cost me 53 euros ......

Sweet Jesus, I am loosing out on something here :) I haven’t even properly gotten started yet. More goodies for my car are in the post

Just don't buy anything else I'd like.

This won’t be relevant to anyone with a facelift Octy, don’t worry :) No promises on anything else though!

Eyebrows, wheel spacers, LED fog lamp bulbs or LED facelift tail lights??

Struggling to think of anything else it could be...Amundsen/Columbus?

All will be revealed in time :D I have looked at the facelift LED rear lights as they are lovely but I’ll stick to what I have for now! Am looking carefully at a full LED retrofit for the clusters though, just to bring them up to date. I saw a new A4 with its reverse lights on the other day and they are really bright and white. Me likey :)

I'm not that much of a fan of the facelift LED rear clusters. The reverse and indicators are still halogen on the Octavia. I also think the two thin crisp LED C's are nicer than the wider single chunky C on the facelift.

Agree though, on newer Audis, VWs etc. The reverse LEDs look cool and the sweeping indicators are too. Skoda one step behind again here...

Failed to get Google Translate to work as I was not able to copy and paste. Far to much to retype in.

Surprised the refuel level isn't on there anyway on an SEL,it's a spec above the VRs isn't it? I have it on my Vrs and I had it on my mk2 vrs as well.

Sort of. Lower price with some higher spec but no body kit and lower powered engines etc. Refuel level wasn’t shown on my vRS, I had to code it myself.

Just to be sure we're talking about the same thing. This is the 'range' left when you scroll through the maxidot via the steering wheel. Don't think the previous owners of mine were into coding extra bits on, christ the Columbus was still on 2014 maps and 0292 firmware.

My bad, found it myself on Google. This is telling you how many litres to get it to full again.

Yep that's it. I was hoping it'd round to the nearest litre but it rounds to the nearest 5 which is annoying. Wonder if you can change that...

I swapped my reversing light bulbs for some LED replacements. Seem to get a good light from them, and that is only a VCDS tweak to tell the car that it has LEDs in them.

Done the indicators as well. (don't get me started on the what you have to do for the front indicators.)

No. This is the number of litres of fuel it will take to fill the tank. Goes up in 5l increments.

Did you do the front indicators? I wanted to, then I read the procedure, promptly laughed and decided to leave it alone!

I have and it was a pain to do., mainly because of the limited access to that part of the headlight unit.

Find something sharp that you can use to pierce the indicator cover and work that round about one quarter of the cover.  Then you should be able to tear the cover off, and get at the holder proper.

Again putting the repair covers on can be fiddly just because of access. Lost one torx bit to the engine bay.
