Delivery times

Featured Replies

Long-time reader, first-time poster :)

After months of comparing different trims, colors and equipment levels, I just ordered a Karoq here in Sweden. Went with a 1.5 TSI 150bhp DSG with two packages - Style and Towing - and a single stand alone option of tinted rear windows. The packages here in Sweden do include quite a few things, such as KESSY, front and rear park assist + backup camera, eletric tailgate, electric towbar, adaptive cruise, heated seats and steering wheel, varioflex seats, full LED, drive mode select, Carplay, etc, so I decided not to pay extra for additional goodies and hope that I wont miss them too much. My employer work very closely with VW so I would be able to get a VW Tiguan with a VERY nice discount, but after test driving both cars for a couple of hours I decided to ”upgrade” to the Karoq since I thought it was more comfortable, better looking, better driving and more economical. Fingers crossed that I wont regret upgrading to the cheaper brand :)

Anyway, the Skoda sales rep (from a dealership network fully owned by VW Group Sweden) confirmed that my order had been placed with VW/SKODA yesterday and told me that the delivery time will be ”between 3 and 5 months”. He said that the car usually goes into production within 4-5 weeks and that the normal delivery time right now should be around 3 months. When I asked another dealer, he told me that the standard delivery times for a Karoq right now is 5-6 months.

When I ordered my current car (a Toyota hybrid) and the one before that (a Volvo diesel) I was given a much more precise delivery time directly upon ordering, both times very accurate. Is it normal for VW/Skoda to give such broad delivery estimates? When are you usually able to get a more accurate estimate for a Karoq delivery? My current car is a lease but it’s hopeless trying to end that agreement when I don’t know when I’ll get my next car...

Anyway, thank you guys so much for this awesome forum. I’m really looking forward to my new Skoda and I hope that I will be able to contribute some when I’ve received my car :)

I'm wondering why didn't you pick the package for 1500 EUR which includes tinted rear windows (±300 EUR saving for Sunset for you), but also partially-leather interior, canton 10 speaker audio, spare wheel and autonomous heater with the remote? Not hugely important selection but for 5% price increase you get much better resale value IMHO :) When it comes to navigation + digital dash + electric memory driver seat package for ±1500 EUR I wouldn't say it is as good choice, especially after trying Android Auto in VW Golf, but I don't think I will regret.

You probably read my updates on this, I also heard about 5-6 months, was buying car from the Norrköping dealer's order 1.5 months before delivery, and dealer was able to tell me pretty much exact production date (exact date around 1 month prior, before approx date) and when it comes to Sweden. So far it was super accurate and the car is in Norrköping with Swedish registration number (and new ugly/cool number plates), but their staff got sick so delivery is delayed until next week for me :)

Which color did you pick btw?

The resale value doesn’t affect me, it’s an all-inclusive business lease with a fixed, guaranteed resell value :) I actually added the digital dash today as another stand alone option and I’m considering replacing Sunset with the package you refer to as well, but: 1) I had a Karoq with CANTON for 12 hours and another one without for 12 hours and I thought that the standard 8 speaker setup was almost as good with my crappy Spotify source, and I kinda like the additional storage on top of the dash without CANTON, 2) I’ve chosen the beige/black two tone interior w/ black headliner, which I LOVE but can’t get with the partial leather seats, and 3) my car is parked in a heated garage both at home and at work, so I rarely get any use out of the heater. I had a similar heater on my previous Volvo but almost never used it since the car was parked outside only a handful of days per year. That said, it’s an awesome feature and I wouldn’t want to live without it here in Sweden if my car was parked outside overnight, so the main reason I’m considering upgrading to this package is if I (or my employer) would move to a place without a garage.

Fully agree about Skoda’s smartphone integration. It’s awesome. Both on my Karoq loaner with the big nav system and on a fully loaded Volvo S90 T8 Inscription I drove last weekend I used Google Maps via Carplay instead of the factory nav. But I do like the digital dash even without nav, so I ordered that anyway :)

When I spoke to the dealer today he said that my car is planned to go into production week 26, and that the factory will close week 28-33, so fingers crossed that my Karoq will make the deadline before the summer break.

Ordered by Karoq 1.6TDI SE Technology DSG on 19th January - car arrived in the UK on 24th April - delivered to the dealer on 18th May - delivered to my house today  a total of 4 months and 9 days from order to delivery - was quoted 22 - 26 weeks when ordered

one of the first things to do is check the tyre pressures !!   Mine was delivered with 45psi and thus the ride was very hard.   dropped the pressures to around 30psi and the ride does improve a bit

My wait was about 12 weeks from order to pick up. I guess this may be a tad quicker if there are no non standard extras that are waiting for stock so a vanilla car may be on your doorstep sooner as it might already be in the supply chain pipe.

Ordered: Monday 8th April

Location: UK
ETA Quoted: 10-12 weeks
Status: At Emden waiting for shipping. Skoda support said it could be around 2 weeks for now

Build Week: 22 was quoted, however it must have been earlier since it's at Emden already

Model: 1.5 TSI Manual SE L with a few addons

I really hope the Skoda customer support was correct, because it seems i will have got very lucky with a quick delivery! Also may prep the dealership and ask them to ensure the latest software is on the car to deal with the potential kangaroo issues. Does anyone know if Skoda updates the firmware to the latest revision as part of the build process?

I ordered a Sportline 2.0tsi in Velvet Red, with Canton and the Digital cockpit. Was ordered on March 18th through a lease company as part of our company car fleet.

It's just arrived at the dealer, and is coming to me next Tuesday, 4th June. Pretty quick, judging by others reports, but I'm guessing the big lease companies prebook build slots for popular models...

First Karoq 2.0tsi on the forum?

Arrived in UK: 5th June

Approx Time at Dealership: 20th June Latest (according to Škoda live chat)

So fingers crossed it would be about 10 weeks in total

Hi, I have found out today that my build week is week 32, commencing 5 August 2019. Going on people on here’s experience, does anyone know roughly how long I will be waiting until I can drive it?!  I’m really pleased as it will be the MY20!

Thanks.

If I recall correctly mine was about 4 to 5 weeks from build to the dealer. They go though customs then wait in line until enough of them are  ready to ship from Emden. Mine was worth the wait.

I have no idea. Mine is an SE L 1.5 dsg, lots of extras, in black with cream leather inside 😁 it’s a long wait but hopefully worth it.

Just an update from my original post regarding time to receive a new Octavia estate 1.0 TSI manual, in quartz grey. No factory extras. Order was placed nearly 9 weeks ago. Just been on with Skoda UK. Still no build date!  Is this normal. I’m beginning to loose faith. Surely they should at least have build date after 9 weeks. I was told around 24 weeks when I ordered and if that’s the case it’s fine. I just find it hard to believe that after 9 weeks I still have no date when it will be built.

Took 13 weeks to get an unconfirmed build week was a further 7 weeks to get a confirmed build week got Skoda Karoq 4 weeks later don’t know if it’s the same for an Octavia think ure on the wrong forum as this is a karoq forum maybe u should try the Octavia one
