Ordered a Karoq 1.6 Se Technology with a couple of options last week with Lex, was told we’d be able to get in mid-August given they’ve got a build slot ready and our existing car’s going back then.

Very suspicious that it’ll be that quick.

Ordered a Karoq 1.6 DSG SE Tech with a colour and Varioflex seat options last week myself.  Was told approx 12 weeks.

Another dealer tried to tell me the SE Tech was only available for company car users and heavily tried to push us to order a SE L DSG that they could get from the docks this week..

Typical sales person. Pushing a sale through for the monthly bonus

While it is favoured by company car drivers, it isn't exclusive. Otherwise it wouldn't be in the brochure/website.

When  i ordered my SE Tech in December '17, as I recall you could get it for the same price as the standard SE. So I leased mine, a 1.5 DSG over 2 years for £1143 then 23 months x £190.60, a total of £5526 which is probably less than depreciation. I'm not sure if these PCH prices are still available but for the spec I got and the price I paid I reckon I've had a good deal. I just hope that these type of PCH deals are still around when I order my next car in December.

Huh !  I ordered my 1.5 TSI SE L DSG in December 17 and got it just about the end of March 18 -- I think my deposit was not dissimilar but currently paying 287 a month altho I did request 10,000 p.annum which does I think add about 10.00 per month. a bit more than the 99.00 a month I was paying for my dear old Yeti !!

Yeah, mine came with 10k miles per year but I only really need about 5-6k now I'm retired.

My own came from VWFS and think now their standard deal is for 8,000 and you have to set the extra as needed (indeed, they just asked me for a mileage check up and at the same time to see if I perhaps needed to change the mileage !!)

I Think amongst many of the PCH leasing deals around for many brands is down to 5,000 p.annum.

The same happened to me this week. I could have a reduced monthly payment of about £9 based on  a re-estimated final two year mileage of 15k but VWFS wanted £60 admin fee to arrange this!! Not "simply clever". Not worth the ffaff.

Got me a build week 33 update earlier,  fingers crossed with me mid Sep

Hurrah. It's coming! Delivery is booked for 18th July. Just in time for the weekend and ready for a road trip a couple of weeks after that.

Our 1.5 DSG SE L ordered April 18th, now confirmed build week 32 but no delivery date as yet. Some delay due to needing me to approve the down-rating of the tow bar from 1600 to 1400kg, meaning we slipped past the factory shutdown and into MY20. Still I guess we aren't in a hurry and now we get 'SKODA' written across the boot :)

When did the badge change at the rear?

I wonder whether mine has the badge or the word 🤔

as its on a motability  lease

so 2 weeks before September  how does that work??

Do you have a car to return that Motability own, and if so when is it due back.

Ask the supplying dealership Dealer Principal in writing if they are OK with waiting for the delivery and getting the money through from Motability.

?

What difference does it make if a 19 or 69 since you only lease it for 3 years?

The VED is not costing you and the depreciation is not a concern.

yes thats what I was thinking never got call like that before

last car was a seat Leon 1.4 tsi  fr estate and it took 6 months ouch

Sorry i do not understand. A call like what?

If a handover date does not suit you tell the dealership, and if there is a problem with them tell Motability.

You could be away on holiday, in hospital etc etc. so a 2 weeks hold before they first register it is no big deal.

dealer phone me up and say your car has been built be with you in 4 weeks

that type of call

OK.

That could turn out to be 5 or 6 weeks and some dealerships could not care less.

So only time tells if it is with them and PDI'd and ready to go.

Tell them you are not available if you don't want to be available.

all cars I have had " new cars anyway"

they never said  the car been built takes 4 weeks to get to me

normally  they say order car and only call me your car is here and pick up when you want

yes I know  what you mean

I have heard lots of salespeople over the years saying they make nothing out of Motability cars.

I know different.

A salesperson might want the registration in a quarter and in that 'sales figures',  but tough titty if they don't get what they want.

When you put your PIN in the machine and the hand over is done the money transfer is done.

If you are paying extra you pay that.  They do damn well from Motability & those leasing.

I expect that Motability is bread and butter business for dealers. What engineering might call base load.

Reliable, steady numbers....
