We were talking about VRS245's not 220/230. Revo modded a 220 in Daventry quite along time ago with 410bhp hybrid turbo but no VAQ diff so wheelspin is a bit of an issue.:tongueout:

More than an Audi RS3 THEN!

They are genuine Skoda but not got the red/green like Superskoda Challenge pack ones (39.99Euro part no.5E0071303DCHAL). Mine will just be etched VRS from local Skoda dealer (£25 the pair) part no.5E0071303D.

Knew someone will fit the IS38 turbo sooner or later but not trying for 400bhp still needs to be very drivable and my car is used daily on 52 mile commute so economy also important.

Damn, I've got the green and red on grey in the front. Superskoda aren't selling the matching rears.

I know tried them first just waiting for the weather to improve so I can fit the plain ones just picked up.

Just read an article on the very limited edition (less than 50 coming to the UK) SEAT Leon ST Cupra 300 Carbon Edition. Yes I know that's a bit of a mouthful (no BJ jokes please NOAIM). You really need to like the colour GREY because that's the only choice available. It still has 4 wheel drive so good traction is a given and Quad exhaust tips like the Golf R and nice Brembo brakes. The 2.0Tsi engine is rated at 296bhp and 380NM so a bit down on my lighter Octavia (GIGGLES). 19" ALLOYS are standard so we know the ride will be on the firm side but the biggest problem with this car is the few carbon bits on it add £2,400 so making a total of (hope your sitting down) £35,575.

Is my car missing the battery top cover? I only have a felt type insulation wrap around the sides only.

Is it possible to get a cover?

One review has no cover in the engine image but a Google search shows a cover in another image.

The felt cover should be on top of the battery as well. Photo below of mine.

This is weird. Mine doesn't look modified or damaged. So either Skoda fitted the wrong cover or made a bizarre revision?

I want to add a cover so I guess I need to buy the part, cut the cover off and velcro it on to mine to avoid having to remove the battery.

Looks like the top part of yours has been ripped off because it's not a very strong piece of material.

But all the edging is perfect with no tears or damage. Notice I don't have the flaps on top on the short edges either. I genuinely think this is a flapless battery cover which is annoying as I want to keep grease and crap off battery.

Looks untidy the way it is and anyone with OCD would drive them nuts!:o

nope thats normal. ive seen both the ones with top and also the type you have. I would just get the part from your skoda dealer if its annoying you.

part 12, but there are a lot of options for it. yours is 5Q0915411E

but it seems to depend on the amps hours of your battery what cover you get? so check its not the same as you have.

Hi guys, joining the club with my black RS245 hatch, fully optioned. I haven't owned a Skoda before but we have had 2 MKIII diesels in the family, an RS and a 110TDI Elegance. I was originally shopping for a Kia Stinger (nice car!) but that just ended up out of the budget a bit, so when an ex-executive RS245 came along at a ripper price I just couldn't resist. So far I've clocked about 2000km in it with the only problems being excessive wheel hop (I drive it with DCC in comfort pretty much all the time) and an extremely annoying rattle from the sunroof. The wheel hop will be fixed with a dogbone mount I've ordered and I will put up with the rattle until the next service. Then it will be the airbox mod, KN filter and a JB4 - I've already ordered an OBD11.

I am also mildly surprised by the price of bolt-ons, for example, the HJS downpipe I have been looking at will cost well over $2500 AUD not including shipping - comparing it with my supercharged FG Falcon XR6 which I had a full 3-inch system, cat and equal length headers custom built for just over $1500. Cold air intakes costing around $750 whereas I got the intake for my Falcon for $295. Anyway, I'll just have to eat less takeaway!!

Until next time,

Welcome Stealth, you are right beyond a stage 1 map upgraded parts are expensive for the 245. Next month spending the equivalent of AUD$6,500 myself to get to stage 2 including full 3" stainless exhaust including downpipe, Airtec airbox and intercooler.

Yeah currenttly at stage 1 with 302bhp and 467NM (345lb/ft) which is FUN so extra 50 to 70bhp will be next level excitement.

Thanks for the response and the link. I feel dumb though as I can't work out which cover I would ask for at Skoda parts?
