Yes there appears to be a direct correlation between plenty of motorway/dualcarriageway cruising and lengthy service intervals, plus regular oil checks of course.

Does yours use much oil? Mine needed about 750ml quite early on but will get to the first service on 1L in total I expect.  IIRC the Mk2 I had followed a similar pattern at first.

Yeah just under a litre so far which is more to do with the long service interval rather than the fact it's mapped.:notme:

Should ragged it, mine used 150ml they said when it was serviced.

Fixed servicing so, done at 9,300 miles

Not leased so not really relevant info and passed that mileage 4 months ago but did drive quickly this morning and averaged 32mpg just out of curiosity, average speed 50mph which is what I averaged for the whole I.O.W trip but managed 45mpg which illustrates average speeds mean absolutely nothing when looking at folks trip photo's.:o

Noticed 3 unmarked Police cars on the recent trip down south, M1, M25 and A3 (M) Audi A4, BMW 3 Series saloon and Mercedes C class saloon pulled motorists over for a chat (not me was behaving myself).:tongueout:

Don’t worry shy.

With the speeds you’re mentioning on here, I’m sure your time will come.

Tony that question wasn't aimed at you, but EddGee has gone a bit quiet. As Jesus said let those without SIN (speeding points) cast the first stone!:blush

Its only a matter of time before you get a ban or end up in the mortuary if you continue driving at the speeds you frequently mention.

Not the smartest move telling everyone what you get up to and making your vehicle identity known to all.

Oh and I’ve not got any points either.

But being an ex-cop I’ve issued quite a few to wreckless drivers over the years.

The reason we are moving from our present house which we bought new over 6 years ago is because the Police can't protect us from the ex-Army BULLY/RACIST living next door to us. Broken fence, vandalised cars, hammer through a window on the front of our house,a pile of scrap wood left in my drive, door kicked in twice. As a result we have had to have 2 CCTV camera's installed and dashcams fitted to both cars. This neighbour from hell has cost us more than £2,500 and finally we can't take anymore **** and have put our house up for sale because local PLOD can't or are unwilling to stop him harassing, intimidating, swearing and name calling myself and my beautiful African born wife. This is why I have ZERO RESPECT for the boys/girls in blue.

The Police service is in a rapid state of decay. The job isn’t the same anymore and it’s losing officers by the thousands.

Thats why I jacked it in.

Many believe they are providing sub standard service and simply not enough to give our country the service the tax payers deserve.

So in some of your points I’m inclined to agree with you.

Although there’s two sides to every story and I don’t know the other one.

But don’t blame the Police.

Its far deeper than that.

Blame the government and the huge cuts in funding and resources.

Does that give you the right to drive like the way you describe to us all?

I dont think so.

My neighbour is a nutter and the Police seem to be scared of him. We attended a mediation meeting with him and his wife and he agreed to stop giving us both grief and to stop swearing at us, to stop calling us names and stop spreading malicious slander/gossip. His father who lived in our street (very nice man) even told us he had issues with his neighbours when he lived in Manchester and London (spotting a pattern here). I have never had a problem with any neighbour before and the day after I bought my wife a new Karoq back in January he stops his BMW in the street whilst I walking to the shops and calls me a *****R (guessing he suffers from jealousy as well as PTSS). Clearly mediation doesn't work with ex-SOLDIERS.

In his defence Shy boasts more about his MPG than his MPH as far as I can see. His documented MPG suggests he spends a lot of time driving quite gently, which he freely admits to on his commute where traffic conditions dictate.

Thank you at least someone on here uses their eyes and their brain at the same time. Never exceeded a single speed limit on recent 360mile trip.

That what baffles me.

How fast one minute then how much fuel to save the next.

Maybe he’s  a schizophrenic. :wondering:

Drive too slow gets criticism, drives too fast gets criticism. Perhaps I should try for Prime Minister, permanently UNPOPULAR.:tongueout:Perhaps all ex-coppers and ex-servicemen have something in common.:D

They’ve probably seen more in a single shift than you’ll see in a lifetime.

Guys whilst I'm one for going off subject more than once but, this discussion ain't good & it certainly ain't got much to do with the 245.

Might wanna clean it up before the mods get involved ?

Let them get involved.

Im surprised they haven’t already.

Shy continues to rile members repeatedly.

They should ban him for constant trolling.

Edd if you scroll up the page you will see that you started this 23 hours ago I have simply defending myself from your blatant BULLYING. But if you promise to stop then I will stop responding to your taunts!

Shy you’ve got issues man.

Get some help.

Read back along the thread which has now gone wildly off track.

I said your time will come - referring to your driving and the fact the police will probably get you one day.

You accused me of ‘going quiet’. That’s provocation or goading or perhaps even bullying.

You insult the Police and have ‘zero respect’ which I find provocative.

You insult ex-soldiers who many of which I’ve served with in the Forces.

You say cops/servicemen have something in common, referring to the anti social behaviour in your previous post.

You’re not wired up right son.

Im not taking any more bait.
