2017 Fabia over revving

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

I have a 2017 Fabia 1.4 DSG which I believe is over revving. When I pull away from being stationary the revs shoot up to 2500-3000 revs for a couple of seconds before dropping back down, although the speed stays constant and there is no 'surging' I'm a bit concerned. This happens throughout my journery and doesn't seem to change if I've been on a longer run or not, and also it happens whether or not the 'stop start' function is being used. I used to have a 2009 auto fabia and it never did this, but I understand the gearbox is probably different being a dsg. I took it back to skoda having only had it a week and they checked it and said it was normal for this type of engine, but i'm still a little skeptical. Can anyone put my fears to rest?

Thanks

Sam

Welcome.

Was your other Fabia Automatic a diesel?

Best ask in the Fabia Mk3 section where other members with the same car might see this.

I noticed the same thing on mine (manual gearbox). Though I've only noticed it when stop/start is active.
