DCC on sportline is WAY to soft

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

Just got my new sportline, and then got disappointed!

It's got the dcc system, and it's like riding a boat. Going over bumps the front will just come crashing down and "never" stop bouncing. Ive driven vw in the past with dcc, and its not been like this. It's like this even in Sport Mode.

Anyone else had issues like this?

Is it possible to connect with laptop and adjust the ride?

Cheers

Sure they specified DCC?

if so it sounds faulty to me.

^^^^+1.

I have an L&K but the difference between sport and normal is very noticeable. I would second a trip back to the dealer. Confirm DCC is fitted and that it is working correctly.

If you change DCC settings between Comfort, Normal and Sport, do you feel any difference at all?

I've already had a mechanic with me for a ride. He did not seem very convinced it was too soft.

If I switch between normal and sport I can't feel much of a difference. I can feel the steering getting firmer.

It wasn't supposed to have DCC. I ordered with sports suspension, but for some reason it came with dcc. The seller is on vacation so I have not spoken to him.

I don’t think it has DCC, just the normal driving profiles.

Did you not test drive the car (or another Sportline) before purchasing it?

Have you checked tyre pressure?  Is it a new car and if so, have transit blocks been removed?

I'm on my 2nd Sportline and yes, the suspension could be firmer and the steering a little more weighted but it's 'sporting' credentials are vs the 'standard' Superb and not M or RS cars, it's just not that type of car. The standard suspension setup on a Superb is far too soft and squidgy for my liking, the Sportline firms things up enough to not roll over in a corner but not so much that long drives become a tiresome chore.

I can certainly notice the difference between Comfort, Normal and Sport modes in mine, which has DCC.

Put it in Individual mode and play around with the DCC settings to see if u can feel the difference.

According to my manual (2017 so may not be applicable) Comfort is only available on cars with DCC. So if you have comfort setting you have DCC. Otherwise you don't.

The drive mode feature codes are 2H* (where * is a number). I believe (though happy to be corrected) the code for DCC is 2H4.

You should find the code for what you have fitted in the spec sheet or on a paper sticker in the boot.

The Op needs to check he has the DCC shocks fitted, look under the rear wheel at the shock, DCC has a connector at the bottom of the shock with a cable attached.

Just because it has drive mode selection, Sport/normal/comfort doesn't automatically mean it has DCC. Needs also to check DCC settings are active as in above pics.

I've got an L & K with DCC very floaty around town and on speed bumps in comfort, tightens the whole ride up to the level of my old Octy VRS on Koni FSD's and handling to match when set on sport, VERY noticeable difference.

Mine also feels like a train when in sport mode. I think there is something wrong with your dampers or you dont have the DCC just driving profiles.

Thanks for all your replies and help guys!

It's going back to be checked on Wednesday. I'll get back with an update then.

I agree with above, either you have faulty DCC or no DCC at all. Difference between normal/comfort is small because normal also acts like comfort, just that it uses sensors to switch between strong/soft mode (if I understood correctly there are only 2 valves in the shocks - 1 sport and 1 for open/close on comfort/normal). So with SPORT valve is always closed and car gets like SUPER Stiff. I can feel every uneven part of highway and on bumps suspension moves just slightly.

I love DCC... Just little off topic ^^. After 600km trip yesterday I'm sooo happy I took it.

So...

Got the car back from the dealer. Turns out, it's not fitted with DCC, the program is there just because of progressive sports steering. And it's not fitted with sports suspension like it should have.

So now it's either getting to an agreement with the dealer, or buying some aftermarket sport suspension.

If anyone got some experiences or recommendations with an affordable kits and lowering, I'd appreciate your inputs.
