@Mossy99 it would be good to hear your experiences with the Erisin. I did read some reports of people being unhappy with them as they were a bit unreliable (it's why I actively avoided them) but hopefully the issues were just isolated units and yours will be fine - just buy from somewhere where warranty claims won't be a painful process. I think you're right about the buttons - I did have a think about which design to go for and bought my model to maximise the available screen, but in hindsight it would be useful to have a few 'hard' buttons available.

@DAVEEVO personally wouldn't go for either of those models. The first one is powered by Windows CE - yuck - and the 2nd is a huge 9 inch screen which mounts in front of the bit that slots into the dashboard. I did look into into these designs but there are lots of reports about the connection to the screen becoming unreliable so I steered clear. YMMV though.

@Timmyboy I've only had it in for four days. Only issue I have had was when I started it up first time  signing into my Google account took a while. It wouldn't let me log in until the next morning for some reason. But since then everything has been working as it should. I'll definitely let you know if I do have problems. Regarding the warranty claim procedure I'm not holding my breath on them following through with one. It was from a Chinese supplier and shipped from China. Very quick to respond before I'd bought the unit but after I received it I emailed them to ask why I couldn't log into Google and I've not had a reply since. In hindsight I probably should have gone for a uk supplier but I'm fairly confident that if it does ever have software issues then I'd give it a good go at fixing it myself.

I have an Erisin as well, just installed today. This one:

https://www.erisin.co.uk/erisin-es7915v-8quotandroid-90-car-stereo-gps-dab-cd-ops-for-vw-passat-golf-touran-polo-eos-seat-p0360-p0360.html

Like everything about it atm EXCEPT that I am getting white noise / static. The sound works (and sounds pretty good at a decent volume) but the static is noticeable, especially at low volumes or with e.g. talk radio. It's across all channels - radio, cd, spotify, etc.

I'm on a Superb Mk II, 2009, and I believe I have the decent sound system. I can't see an external amp anywhere but I've got the extra speakers in the doors.

I used the battery disconnection method to install the unit and get the sound working properly. At first, the volume was VERY VERY LOUD but I've fiddled with some of the factory settings that let you reduce the sound by eg 15db. This gets things down to a reasonable volume but doesn't make any difference to the static, unfortunately.

Any ideas what might be causing the white noise? I've also got an airbag warning light since disconnecting and reconnecting the fascia......

Ok, so after reading this thread it persuaded me to make the purchase. I went for the Erisin but it looks exactly the same as the one you've posted @Timmyboy. It was so simple you fit just unplug and plug back in. Don't forget GPS antenna because it's not as responsive just connecting through your phone. Sound quality is excellent. Play store has everything I need. I even bought the OBD2 bluetooth add on and I can now see my speed/boost pressure/0-60 time and much more. What a bargain. Thanks for creating this forum and being so informative. I've just registered to tell you that lol. Excellent product and great upgrade to original stereo.

Can't comment on the Erisin, but on my Xtrons I still get the parking sensors display and it's exactly how I'd expect it to look. Bluetooth is 'ok' - not the best quality, but I couldn't be bothered to run another microphone to the car so I just shout at the head unit, which for the small number of calls I receive is perfectly fine.

That's brill thank you

My car isn't fitted with reverse sensors so can't give you an answer for that. As for this bluetooth during calls the sound is fine but the microphone is not the best. It comes with a  stand alone microphone that can be wired to the back of the unit. Haven't got round to doing it yet so can't help you there either. If you are thinking of buying one of these then I'd recommend the octa core version just so it's quicker. Mine seems a little slow at times but other than that no other issues. Sorry for late reply. I'd go for this one.

Look at this on eBay https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F172855888151

Cheers for that,I really want the sensors to work for when ERM its not me driving shall we say ;+)

not quite the same unit but probably close enough for comparison..i'm sure someone else can comment on any differences?

the reverse i 'think' i can select a 'tracking' setting where the trajectory is shown?

volume for the reverse beeps is changed in Settings - exactly where i can't remember, somewhere at the bottom of list i think?  Car?

also in there is the option to reverse the door opening display or put it right depending on unit

just needs reset with OBDeleven, Carista etc.

if you remove the trim again in future try to leave the passenger airbag connection plugged in

So does that utilize the sensors in the rear bumper as I don't have a reverse can.

Ah I didn't realise I could reset errors with that tool, just view them. Fabulous.

That fascia is a pain to remove while keeping the airbag connection plugged in.....

yup, standard bumper sensors

you weren't pulling hard enough then  😀

should be just enough to twist and dangle fascia downwards

That's good news cheers

I shoved both antenna up under the dash, loads of room.

I removed the top cubby hole to give me more space to work.

Thanks! I have been going crazy with how little space I actually have to shove the Canbus and the Canbus box behind the stereo. I will try removing thethe top chubby!
