So.... It happened. My 220hp sportline has been traded in for a seat leon st cupra 300.

What a car! Absolute beast!  Loving the power and awd!  No more wheel hops and wheel spins.

Looks great.

Are you pleased with it? How does it compare?

Enjoy your new car.

Yes very pleased. Tbf its a very different car. Although funnily enough the wife prefers this one. So all is good haha.  Roof racks bought and roof box will be next puchase.  Its nice to have the 4wd!  Can just pull out of junctions with no wheel spin!

Love it! Keep looking at these as a replacement for my Octavia VRS. Love the colour too.

Id deffo recommend it! I had a mk2 fl octy vrs before my superb sportline 2.0tsi 220.  These also have the DCC and full LED lights as standard.

Took some Autosol metal polish to the door scuff plates. They actually looked fine before hand but loads of black tarnish came off, and the small scratches buffed out. They are gleaming now.

How does the cabin quality compare to the Superb Sportline? Is it noticeably thirstier than the 220 in the Superb?

Quality isnt too bad tbf.  Compared to the octavia id say its on par. The superb is a bit better.  In terms of economy atm its similar. The car pulls even in 6th without dropping to 5th (dsg). But will drink if you are on it lol

Drove from Hamilton to Skye via Mallaig ferry (~200 miles)  at an average on the trip of 43.4mpg. Not hammering it but lots of 60 mph where possible.

I'm impressed that a 280 can achieve that.

In a similar vein I drove from North Norfolk (always makes me think of Alan Partridge) to home. Averaged 23.6mpg over 160 miles.

Mind you I was towing a caravan and had the aircon on all the way.

Yep, aircon all the way too.

A local run has put paid to the 40s though...

After two years, mine still have the plastic protective covers on them. I've come to the conclusion that I actually benefited from the rubbish PDI (twice - mine was ex-demo).

Looking good though Stevie .

Nice tyres!  :)

I installed a Blackvue DR590 dashcam today.
Powered on and off by ignition, using fuse location 47 (rear window wiper, which was unused)
Was an easy install thanks to some handy tips from those that have done it before 👍
No soldering, basically plug'n'play with these bits from Electronics store:-
- 1x 10 amp fuse
- fuse wire tap
- cigarette lighter to 8mm eye terminal

Happy with it.

Can't see it from the drivers seat.

No, I haven't got the GPS receiver bit, or the power bank (for parking mode) - I can always add these later, if I want.

  • 1 month later...

Small hob today. Lined the  small storage box to the right of the steering wheel with felt to eliminate the sound of things rattling around.

Open the storage container, push down at the top to release and lift out from the two hinges at the bottom.

Good idea and nicely done!

Really like that @Steviedakota and thinking of doing the same on mine (plus the side pockets which ISTR you also did). Did you use a contact adhesive to hold it down?

Cheers! Self adhesive felt sheets, sold in Lidl and Aldi from time to time.  Got these at a Chinese shop in Spain. It's the stuff intended for furniture feet on wooden floors.

Correct Jeff, did all the door pockets a while back too.

Booked it in for a Major Service @ DM Keith Leeds + a DSG Service  (once they decided it's sealed or not... It's not......ffs)

Me = Broke for the rest of the month

I stuck a piece of self adhesive felt in the sunglasses holder today. Great minds think alike 😂

Also deactivated start stop again. Skoda decided to re-enable it while calibrating my reversing camera. I’d forgotten just how annoying stop start is on an automatic.

  • 2 weeks later...

Got me some bowls.....door handle bowls.
Finger nails were doing no good to the paintwork behind the door handles.
More chrome....woOot 😂

Yeah, I think I need to go to therapy.

I hope that's just the remains of polish behind the back door.
