Not sure what size you need but camskill.co.uk have Q5 19" at £126.45 each - comes to about £520 delivered plus your local fitter at a tenner a tyre.  That's cheaper than I paid back in January.

Over the last couple days, I've been cleaning, polishing and waxing the new motor. Time constraints mean I couldn't do it all in one day.  Came up looking so much better though, really got the metallic 'pop' come up nicely. Also manged to reduce a few of the more noticeable marks on the paint. 

 

Washed, tardis, iron x, clay, menzena polish on the rough bits, then Primo Finish to enhance it. Waxed with definitewax's Blueprint. Then tires, glad and interior tided up.  Found a few bitts that need more work, but very happy with the results for now. 

Very nice Indeed! Mine would really benefit from slightly larger wheels (17 instead of 16) and nicer ones, of course. I have the dull orion ones... Considering new ones when it's time to change tires. Been looking at some from a company called CMS. Reasonably priced and some look good.

Jus a heads up for those changing pedal covers. The gas pedal is unnecessarilly tricky/hard but I found a REALLY easy way to do it. Just glue some strong tape under the lip of one of the long edges, fit the other side and when pushing the tapped side down pull on the tape to lift the lip open and it will slide right in. Then yank the tape out if it didn't come off already. Took me 10 s this way.

I bought my boot lights from Aliexpress, following another thread about adding rear footwell lights. Under 9€ for the pair. Haven't received yet though...

Added a DTE Pedalbox.. Its a DSG  and the response from the pedal was nothing, not much more and then as a final press would scream off like a mad man.. 

now with the Pedalbox fitted I touch the pedal and I'm moving.. touch it slightly more and it zips along. This is what I feel it should have been from the factory.  thank goodness for the German aftermarket tech!

Slight improvement for Estate owners. I've upgraded the luggage cover handle.

I've replaced the original one with an Audi Q3 one (ref. 8D0 862 565 - 4PK). A kind of small detail that makes a car more "premium", I think.

 

For those, who would do the same, please note that this modification is NOT 'plug and play'. Some adjustments are necessary.

Indeed, I had to enlarge the hole and I had to cut a positioning pin on the new handle.

I used a pattern (designed and cut from a card stock) to cut the luggage cover correctly. I also used a file for a nice and smooth finish (even if covered by the new handle).

Not very difficult, just takes ~1h (including the pattern).

@unclerichy  I did, indeed, check it out and today purchased 4 X Vredestein Quatrac 5 tyres + delivery to my London fitter came to £473. No one else seemed to have them in stock, but Camskill said they had them on the shelf. I wonder if we will be getting the long. cold winter the predictors have been predicting? I hope not, but I'll be ready. Hopefully no snow until after November 1st.

 

I've still got 5mm tread on the old P7's, but won't miss them...

Today I installed some projector courtesy lights on front doors (rear ones are not wired, just reflectors...) and swapped the dim boot door lights for white LEDs that juts arrived from Aliexpress (no pics of that yet). Each was a 2 min job.  

Winter tyres back on.

It's like running in my slippers!

Thanks for the links i want to get some footwell lights, the door projector is it just plain of is it skoda logo? Id like them just white down light and brighter red

I had plain original door lights and replaced with Skoda logo, just like in my post above. That's actually a photo taken in my garage, with the white circles and green logo. Looks really nice when it's dark. Although yeah, the red toward the back is kinda pinkish... I previously had also tried projectos only with Skoda wording and they were closer to original, ok n that they were deep red.

The white LEDs in the link I used for the trunk door (estate). Original ones were halogen and way too dim. These are super bright. They will also fit the footwell, as they are all the same size.  Don't know if they are dimmable though. For the footwell I actually bought "empty" lamp holders and will be using w5w LEDs, as I don't want very strong light down there. I've tried a couple on the roof lights and they are fine, brighter than the halogens but not blindingly so. So I'll use them for all footwell lights. Can post the link if you want. 

A good clean today, followed by removing the offside rear wheel arch liner and adding more sound insulation left over from a previous job. While the wheel was off gave it a good clean and de-tar on the inside of the rim.

Put all the essentials into the new (to me) MK3 from the old one.  Now have a boot liner, set of cargo nets and a space saver 18" spare well with tool kit.  In Northumberland if anyone is interested.

Took care of a slightly shiny steering wheel with a Magic Sponge. Amazing, looks like new, nice and matt. Three or four light passes with a moist sponge, don't be too aggressive as they are quite abrasive.

Drove to Skeg` and had a lovely walk along the sunny seafront.

This weekend I applied noico soundproofing material to the boot floor (similar to dynamat but cheaper). The immediate, unexpected result was a more "solid" thump when closing the tailgate. I still get a fair bit of tire noise/drone, but in a bad tarmac stretch it was definitely quieter, way less rumble. With time I'll do the hood and probably rear wheel arches from the inside. Maybe the larger, hollow pillars too. I most likely won't do the doors, too much trouble to disassemble and reassemble. 

 

I meant to get some before/after dB readings but forgot to do it on the way home over the bad tarmac, and felt lazy to do quite a distance to get those values. It was also a busy weekend with the kids, picking mushrooms in the woods :-)

You're right Bap33, I meant to post there as well. I actually posted there before saying I was going to take a shot at soundproofing but I saw the "what did you do to your super today" thread first and then ran out of my free time to post on that other thread. Will do it now. On the way back home I could confirm that the car is definitely way quieter over a bad road. A solid improvement for sure, and not just placebo effect; when transitioning to this 3 km long stretch of bad road the noise would go from the "normal" tire drone to a VERY loud rumble. Now the tire drone is quieter and the loud rumble is almost absent. The trunk already had some pieces of this butyl material from factory but clearly not enough! Well worth my 34€ and still have a full sheet left.

Taking a tip from @unclerichy I ordered 4 x 235/40 R19 Vredestein Quatrac 5s from Camskill. The price was so good (£118.25/ea including delivery), I wondered about the quality. But they were delivered to my fitter (Watling Tyres, Catford) and the manager said the tyres were looked first rate. They were fitted quickly and the front end aligned. So, the knock my front right tyre/rim took in Palermo 13 months ago has finally been put right.

 

Can't say much about the new tyres – I drove straight home. I said I didn't rate the Pirellis and the fitter said, "Lots of people say that."

 

I'm not used to driving at rush hour in London. I could have walked to Catford quicker. 45 minutes to do a four mile trip. Okay, I could have run quicker. Unbelievable that people do that every day.

 

Also health-and-safety reared its ugly head. Watling have signs everywhere: Do not cross/Staff only. Customers wait in reception. They have a large reception area with windows to view the MOT bay and the motorcycle service area. But, the car lifts are in another area behind a wall. So, I walked outside and stood on the pavement outside the shop and looked into the bays. They got arsey with me. I'll take it on faith that they actually did a front end alignment, but next time I'll go back to KwikFit.

 

So, are we going to get this promised long, hard winter? I'm ready...
