What have you done to your Superb III today?

Featured Replies

Honestly, I am not sure, might stick to the OE oil until warranty expires ... is not much more time, maybe two more oil changes if at all.

I'd save surely some euro in the oil itself, but not sure it justifies the hassle, especially as there is really have no guarantee they will use YOUR oil ....

Chucked a bucket of water over it. Three hours later this is the result.         Happy with that

@leolito I also did oil change service recently, at 15k km. And like you, I was thinking about bringing my own oil next time. Maybe Ravenol VSW? :)

@Colin170CR Did the independent shop have access to the digital service platform? I've heard that some of them do have.

Yes I believe the independent garage did have access to Digital car records. Service books in the cars are rarely stamped theses days.

Finally put on the sound “proofing” which L&K’s get as standard and replaced front dogs to osram night breaker laser h8’s (as seen on the front passenger uk) much whiter in real life and hopefully bit brighter too

Has the sound deadening had much effect?

I’ll be going for a drive in a few hours and I’ll let you know

I’m not expecting miracles, changing to good year asymmetric 6’s from p7’s was a miracle though, so much more quieter

Yes, my Michelin Cross Climates made a massive difference compared to the previous Dunlop SportMaxxs.

I'm always interested in 'simple' add-ons to reduce the cabin noise further.

So just got to my destination, not a huge difference but certainly quieter because I can hear noise in my estate rear now, never noticed it before.

On my way here there’s a road with like red rumble strips, my car was quiet anyway but even more now.

So from my 30 mins driving (max speed 50) biggest difference is crappy roads no longer seem as bad.

I’ll be doing a much longer drive soon and hoping I’ll notice more difference at motorway speeds.

But I might have to do something in the boot area now because I can notice more noise there, I don’t believe there’s extra padding for the rear arches that can be added on, so might have to DIY stylee

Happy to hear there is some improvement regardless! A quieter car makes every journey much more pleasant!

Yes, is amazing how many little things can make a difference. I've noticed a lot of wind noise around the B pillar, which sooner or later will want to address.

There is also something creaking around the tweeter area, but the dealer does not seem inclined to do something about it, so sooner or later the gloves will come off ... I mean the door card 😝 and I will go piece by piece there.

kein großer Unterschied, aber auf jeden Fall leiser

My L&K already had the insulation from the factory and even had foam tape stuck on when the wheel arch liner was out.

I can also confirm the new osram night breaker laser fogs are much brighter than originals, I can now actually see them work at cornering lights.

I used them as fog lights on an empty road and lights up the side much better too, so happy purchase for them as well

I fitted Michelin cross climates recently and made a big difference from the original rubber supplied on our Sportline , its also made the estate boot area noise more prominent so be interesting to see if you find a solution of yours.

The Hardrace front swaybar (7758) is in. 28mm.
Car feels a lot more tighter, making corners flat n easy 😁
Did a wheel alignment as well as they had dropped the sub-frame.
All good.
It nicely compliments the existing Hardrace rear swaybar (7759) and front strut tower brace (8949).

Did you order the parts directly from Skoda or someone else, link?  Thanks.

Hello, I got them from Skoda can’t remember the price exactly but I think it was around £30 for both sides

I done a longer travel in my car on the motorway and much improved but can still notice the rear noise is more noticeable

I've installed Easy Close, really nice feature.

It prevents closure if key is too close and also puts car on guard. So you don't need close car from remote or touch kessy handle after lid closed.

Nice feature to avoid the boot closing on you back when you inadvertently trigger the virtual pedal with your feet. 👍

I've been there & done that! Although the boot did stop when it felt some resistance. I had the car for 2 years before I discovered it had a virtual pedal 🤣

What a fantastic upgrade! Goes right away to the list of stuff to do ... a long list 🤪

going to do that on the Kodiaq shortly, i want to be able to lock the car from the boot.

i had a more urgent question though: how to remove the white and blue connectors on the back of the radio (the bit in the glove box). I can't for the life of me remember how I did it last time... the yellow, purple, MOST and black are done. The two furthest away from the MOST connector are the ones in question... thx!

Moved front tyres to back and back to front, been meaning to do this and much easier with my newish 3ton jack as it lifts the entire side up, unlike my old crappy one

Popped a protective screen cover on the Columbus and no bubbles or dirt. 😃

I do clean it a lot because the finger prints drive me mad, so this'll get scratched up from all the cleaning instead of the main unit

(I did initially see a dirt piece under it so lifted it up, dirt dabbed with supplied sticky thing and it went back down clean)
