What have you done to your Superb III today?

Fitted D3S LED headlights, legality is questionable but going for a drive later and hopefully all good with no possibility of dazzling people

Don’t think it will as they are annoyingly low but not the broken low as the light dance happens and both raises

Belts and braces I might go to a garage and get alignment checked and see if they can be upped a little if needed

fitted the LED fog light bulbs this morning.

No errors or flickers. Really pleased with the look.

Will take some pics in the dark tonight

Can you guess which one has been changed so far?

What bulbs did you use & what was the access like?

I just went for cheap bulbs from AliExpress.

https://a.aliexpress.com/_ExCMD4y

Fitting is easy. Remove adjacent trim, undo two torx screw then whole unit comes out. Undo plug and twist out bulb. Then the reverse to install.

What fitting type are they? H8 & H11 seem to be mentioned on different web sites & that link has both types?

@Binx1310 Maybe better to take a picture on a Foggy day or Night to lets us see how they are as fog lights.

very white bulbs arent as good as fog lights compared to the more yellow colour. I have got some before pictures I took last night, will get some more with the new bulbs tonight.

They are all the same fitment.

"The primary differences are wattage and brightness: H8 is 35W (fog lights), H11 is 55W (low beams), and H9 is 65W (high beams)" according to google.

Any suggestion for new brake discs - front and rear ? Šuperb 2018, L&K, 2.0, 140w, 4x4

Shouldn't be a problem tbh - the bulb is likely not e-marked which is the only UK "legal" issue although there are e-marked ones starting to appear. If its going in the HID cluster then there's no impact on light spread as that is governed by the lens in the cluster rather than the bulb.

Height comes off a sensor at the rear so if that's working and the headlight cluster is working then no obvious problems.

Depends what you're looking for. But if the car is standard, just go with OE.

So not really what I have done today, more what I have done this week.

Monday - Was at Skoda for the Touch screen replacement under warranty due to a line appeared on the screen.

  • They also checked the Seat

  • Checked the Steering Angle as the steering wheel was right hand down.

  • Above 2 items not resolved

Tuesday - Powerflow Ipswich fitted the Res Delete from RPM, very happy with this, long drives no issues at all.

Thursday - Resolved the drivers seat moving when getting in thanks @Binx1310

Friday (Today) - Wheel alignment done, steering wheel is now correct, not sure why the other place which is associated with Halfrauds couldn't of resolved this but anyway its level when going straight now.

Next items are

Fit the Auto Start/Stop gubbins so I don't have to disable it each time.

Source and fit rear heated seats, long process this one so no rush

Wheel spacers

Intake system using existing lower air box.

Possible

Wheel refurb or replacement along with tyres being done at the same time but will wear the tyres out before I think about this

Wheel replacement entirely

Or anything else that @Binx1310 finds that I now need haha

slightly regretting not saving up a bit more and getting a high spec petrol particularly to do some of the performance (and exhaust note) modifications, but then I look at the MPG and the fact it accelerates plenty fast enough for me and im a bit more content

These are e marked but digging into its wrong e marked, but I’d act dumb should anything happen.

I did manually raise them one full turn yesterday and better, not dazzling anyone so that’s good but will get it checked properly.

Considering I have done about 2000 miles since Oct 2025 now the MPG wasn't a concern but the performance was coming from a 1.5 TSI Taracco with this car happening to be available local to trade in the Seat for this. Seat didn't have any 2.0 ones either so hence why this was purchased, although I nearly bought a Cupra Terramar (SP) but turns out they are not that big.

Happy with the Skoda now but has taken a few ££££ to get to this point so hoping can enjoy the rest of the years now

Yesterday actually, I changed the front discs and pads as the L&K is in for MOT on Thursday. There was an advisory on last years test to say that the front discs were scoring on the inside faces.

Straightforward job apart from the two bolts that hold the caliper are 21mm hex head, so I had to get a socket to suit.

The car has covered 101,000 miles and there was still 6mm on the original pads.

Something else for me now to purchase

White isn’t so good for fog. You can get ones that switch between white and yellow so you get best of both worlds but they’re much more expensive. Might be a future upgrade if I find the white to be problematic for the few foggy days we have.

https://autobeam.co.uk/collections/switchback-fog/products/led-h8-switchback-fog-unit

That is pretty cool, the Tarraco I am sure had LED type bulbs for the Fogs as it had LED headlights not sure how much of a difference but never noticed poor sight in fog

But then again can’t remember the last time I drove in fog

No that’s what I thought. Hence the £7 white only LEDs!

I guess I go with full Zimmermann or Zimmermann + TRW pads:

@Binx1310 If white is not so good for fog which is true, is your upgrade just to give you a Chav look driving about, or will you only use them when no other road users about, where nobody can be annoyed, & maybe when you are not able to see with Full Beam on because you have poor eye sight?

How do you mean wrong e-mark? As in it’s a fake mark?

Hoping those shots are full-beam and not dipped; otherwise you’re going to get flashed a lot.

How does the dipped beam line look? It shouldn’t go above the door line on other cars then you’re fine tbh.
