That is pretty cool, the Tarraco I am sure had LED type bulbs for the Fogs as it had LED headlights not sure how much of a difference but never noticed poor sight in fog

But then again can’t remember the last time I drove in fog

You can get warm white led fogs if you wanted - but looks like the colour temp is what you wanted to change anyway.

Can’t remember the last time I drove in fog either though tbh. Or whether I can turn fogs on with auto headlights on

I have been caught in serious Fog, so thick that driving on was not safe. I seldom use my Hazard Lights, but never thought that i should upgrade the indicators. Never upgraded rear fog light,s other than on Land Rovers. Never felt the need to upgrade the horn, but then i do not drive a Taxi.

How do you mean wrong e-mark? As in it’s a fake mark?

Hoping those shots are full-beam and not dipped; otherwise you’re going to get flashed a lot.

How does the dipped beam line look? It shouldn’t go above the door line on other cars then you’re fine tbh.

The first and second is normal dipped, but first is on my drive which is odd camber

Here’s a rough comparison

LED

IMG_1740.jpeg

For the E marking it looks like it’s only for interference but tbh it all gets a bit confusing, for MOT wise it’ll be fine due to a bit of a loop hole

No dazzling at all and not stupidly bright, does go a little further which is what I wanted and better light colour for my eyes

Driving next to other cars with legit LEDs there’s is still brighter and higher

Note these are just taking from an iPhone, no matched settings or anything so not true reflection of real life

Bright LED,s are Daytime / Daylight lights, not bright when Full Beam on. Or should not be.

@Binx1310 If white is not so good for fog which is true, is your upgrade just to give you a Chav look driving about, or will you only use them when no other road users about, where nobody can be annoyed, & maybe when you are not able to see with Full Beam on because you have poor eye sight?

I prefer the look of the white lights than the yellower ones. I’ve coded them to be on with full beam only. And they come on for corner lights. Throw out a nice spread of white light. Shouldn’t annoy or dazzle anyone.

Where they annoy can be at junctions, road levels different, humps etc. Usually Full Beam on or proper Light Bars on lets the muppet know IME. I prefer to be seen in Fog and be able to seen. There is a Highway Code in the UK and Legislation concerning Fog Lights. They are not spot lights, or 'Auxiliary' lights. Special Lights for special people. My favourite case on inappropriate lights are Front Fog lights that come on automatically as reverse selected. As if there was no others to annoy the driver could not put the full beam on.

First and 3rd pics are definitely clear. Much better and yes I see the beam is well below the door glass on the campervan. Almost too low.

Yeah. I changed these as I prefer the whiter colour. Coded to be on with high beam and when you flash high beam. Corner light should be an issue as they are aimed correctly and not hugely brighter. will get them checked at next service anyway for aim.

I agree. Really don’t get the point of them on when reversing?!

Installed Auxito LED reversing and indicator bulbs this evening. Much brighter and clearer. Another simple but effective upgrade. Difficult to photograph but hopefully the difference is visible. It certainly is in person. IMG_0587.jpeg

  • Wheels spacers 20mm rear, 15mm front.

  • Debadged the bloody awful L&K logos. They look like they belong on a violin or Italian menu.

  • Front splitter fitted.

Car's done now. Happy with how it looks. It's alright for a luxury bus. Even getting used to the PHEV aspect of it. The 19" alloys do look well but I agree they do compromise the soft ride quality a little. I just have to keep an eye out for potholes I suppose.

It's been a while since I've been around these forums, so hello all, new and old. I still have a mint condition 1.9TDi 130bhp Mk1 Superb with only 65k on it. I keep meaning to sell it but never get around to it because I still have a big soft spot for it. I've had other cars in the meantime, but this one still remains in the stables. I remapped it and it's running around the 165bhp mark these days but still returns 50+mpg. Honestly it does everything pretty well and I'm appreciating the ease of it more these days with all newer cars having everything electric or "smart". I lowered the suspension and threw some 18" RS4 alloys on it even. Added a from splitter to that too but honestly I need the garage space back these days. Will be sad to see it go. I might get around to getting it gone sometime soon, we'll see. As for now this new estate bus is the daily driver. I like it well enough so far. 21 plate with 80K on it.

That splitter is nice. Where is it from? Mine is pre-FL but I like the look of the maxton type splitters.

How would the rs4 wheels look on the new bus?

Agreed, those Mk1 Superbs really did have a soft pillowy ride, I loved mine and also they had the cat's-eye interior lighting at night.

It is a Maxton splitter actually. Managed to fit it without removing the front bumper by way of using some rivnuts. I've used rivnuts before but completely forgot about them until someone on here mentioned them to me. Cheers JR RS for that reminder.

You know it never occurred to me to maybe switch around the wheels. Hmmmmmmmm?

Mine doesn't actually ... well not as bad as it had new anyhow. I dropped the suspension 30mm onto some genuine Eibach springs. It's still comfortable but it rides flatter around corners and it's not as wallowy. I've kept it all these years purely because no matter what other cars I had at the same time I still always appreciated just how honest it is. It does nothing brilliantly, but it does everything rather well and without fuss.

Do you know which version of the splitter it is as they look like they normally stick out too far but that looks spot on

Do you have more detail on how to do this?

I’ll plug in a bit later and take some screenshots.

How are these fog lights in the fog ? Knowing we seem to have some fog currently

Not proper fog to warrant putting them on!

Ok. I have this obd module

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XGB4873

And a pro license for carscanner (£8)

Set the mqb profile and connect. Bonnet has to be open and ignition on. Engine off.

Select coding and service

IMG_0609.jpeg

Then luggage compartment

IMG_0610.jpeg

Then scroll to the bottom and choose tailgate dataset customisationIMG_0611.jpeg

Then click on choose other and select one of the superbliftback ones.

IMG_0614.jpeg

IMG_0612.png

Then set the parameters you want and choose apply. (The open/close from remote should be selected)

IMG_0615.png

IMG_0616.png

You may need different settings if you have kessy or virtual pedal.

I have seen on another page that you have to hard reset through the long coding options for it to apply but it worked fine for me without this.

I have also noticed this evening that when you go back in to it it reverts to default rather than showing you your current settings.

Edited by Binx1310

also fitted the metal pedals tonight. Screw for the footrest was a pain to line up and the accelerator one doesn’t fit very well. But is on securely.
