Not much point me washing ours at the moment because we have builders knocking 10 bells of $$$$ out of the house across the road. As a result there's dust & mud all over the shop & in the air from 8am till 4pm.

I also hear we are getting some sand from Saudi with our weather so I'll wait for a bit before I get the pressure washer out.

On the plus side I have invested in dual action polisher for the cars. Nothing too expensive but it will save my aching joints. When all the dust settles (literally) I will have a go at a bit of light cutting & buffing to remove some swirls in the paint on my car which, being black, shows every mark known to man.

19" summer wheels back in place. I'm finally enjoying my detailing work this winter (deep cleaning, waxing and tyres dressing)

Clean wheels but dirty car...

2 new Michelin PS4 on the rear axle. Finally got rid of the original Pirelli P7. I'm eager to go for a drive, to feel the différence ;)

Bap33 - Are those black powder coated wheels? They look like the same as I have on mine which are diamond cut anthracite grey.

The reason I ask is that I'm considering getting mine power coated black to match the car colour.

So I'm planning a virtual cockpit retrofit and wanted to start gathering parts. I read that to do it right, you should have a view button on the steering wheel. But why pay £70+ for buttons and faff around switching them when you can find a flat bottom sportline wheel with the heated option and view button (retails at £600) for £80 on ebay...

Was that c/w the airbag?

Apparently the heated wheel air bag is different?

Nice weather in Olney. Similar here in Newport P & it's settling. Not ideal for working on the car:doh:

Didnt come with airbag. As long as you get your part numbers right, airbag is a straight swap

@AlValI hate you so so so much!!! Been after one of those forever!!!! It is 3V0419091AF isn’t it the wheel? Thought the airbag was different. Where did you find it if you don’t mind me asking?

@Colin170CR These are the original glossy black wheels. I didn't have them powder coated. Sorry.

Yep 3V0419091AF, there are a few extra letters at the end which I think designate the stitching colour, in my case BGW (silver?)

Ebay, I paid EUR100 (£84), and there's not a scratch on it.

The craziest part is that there was some courier mixup whereby the courier said it had been delivered.. In Germany (?!)  a week ago, and since I'm in the UK I got worried and raised it with the seller. Seller refunded me, and then it showed up today! So at this point I got it free. I will do the right thing though and contact them.

I had forgotten how much a decent wheel changes the driving experience, years ago swapped my mk4 golf wheel for an R32 one, and I remember thinking it was the best mod I ever did, and I'm getting that same feeling with this.

However I was sure I read somewhere that if you had heated front seats, the wiring for heating to the wheel was already in place, but on mine the wire for that isn't visible at the hub. Maybe it's hiding behind this circular round plastic spinnything on the hub that contains the airbag connector in the pic below. See also pic of back of wheel where you can see the heated wire connector poking through. I reckon there's an alternate version of black round spinnything that contains heated connector also. More research needed there to get the heat working on it. I wonder if it's not related to heated windscreen as opposed to heated seats (I don't have the heated windscreen)

So lucky!! I keep missing the cheap ones, missed one in Feb as well, £90!!!! The heated wiring will need adding. If you aren’t feeling the love for that task I’ll swap you with my equally perfect non heated one, same stitching and button layout :D I have this time number saved on eBay search but they never tell me when they are for sale!

Not done anything to the car just yet but postman has brought something rather exciting😍 should be fitting in on weekend😇

Can't find the heated version spinnything ("clock spring") less than £100 5Q0953502B, never thought that would be more expensive than the wheel haha

Yeah that’s another expensive component lol :D

@SashaGrace what's the difference between what you have vs @AlVal?

Mine is not heated :) But I’ll be looking much more closely for a heated one now. Was only doing cursory glances when I had the vRS as I knew it wasn’t staying.

Ah yep, the NZ sportline come with heated standard.. although it doesn't really get cold enough to use it so I'm not sure why we need it

Would much rather have vented seats, but those are heated too

The 2021 SportLine has it now, but I don’t fancy the 2021 wheel swap as the view button issue still hasn’t been fixed. Mine is a 2020.

Yeah, mine is a MY20 thankfully (don't have to deal with MIB3)

Getting haldex, DSG box serviced, engine flushed and oil & filter changed

Mines due its 2yr service in a few months. I’ve a set of NGK R7438-8 plugs sitting here to go in it at the same time. Like the iridium ix fitted to the older gen units, they do give a smoother and faster response under throttle.
