Featured Replies

Hello.

I am new here so hopefully posting this in the right bit.

I have reserved this car (link above) and wondered if it had adaptive cruise control or just standard cruise control?

Also would anyone be able to give me tips on what to check, is there anything that i should ask? My father has a superb and his cd player doesnt work etc!

Thanks for your help and I would really appreciate your advice.

Hello and welcome Gordon :hi:

The site has a really good search facility (button in the top right corner) and there's plenty to read about buying advice.

I think (but don't know) that it's likely to have CC, rather than ACC.  Although note it's got the radar square (in the grille just below the number plate).

Misdirect over the emissions 'fix'

Looks like standard cruise control to me, it isn't listed as adaptive in the description either.

Adaptive cruise control has a 2nd stalk below the indicator stalk to control it.

@V6TDI EA189 doesn't apply to Octavia 3, all diesels are from the EA288 family.

Saw it was Euro 5, put two and two together, made five :notme: :blush

Thanks for your responses.

Does the radar sensor not serve any purpose then if it has standard cc?

It will have front assist (emergency automated braking) if it has the radar but no adaptive cruise.

Thanks, that is really helpful information. Would anyone be able to tell me what I should be checking for? Are there any common problems with the entertainment systems/sat nav? Missing SD cards etc?

Thanks for your hep - it's really appreciated.

I, and from posts on here several other owners too, didn't get a map SD card (essential with an Amundsen as it reads the maps from the card) when I bought my Octavia second hand from a Skoda dealer. The dealer couldn't/wouldn't provide me with one so I bought one off eBay for much less than a new one.

BTW the Amundsen must have a genuine Skoda SD card for the maps, not just any SD card, and it must be the correct one depending on whether the Amundsen is a MIB1 or MIB2.

Hi Petrol Dave,

That is good to know - stupid question but how do I check this?

Thanks,

Gordon

The changeover happened in mid 2015 - my Octavia was built in April 2015 and has a MIB1.

So 64 plate or earlier will be MIB1, 65 plate or later will be MIB2 and 15 plate could be either.
