I already use a filter as i shown to you.

The question is why to change this with an oil catch, what's the difference?

Also i have no available space in my engine bay.

Use your common sense.

I would like to ask you to don't speak with irony tone to me,if you are a native Spaniard you will already know that Mediterranean guys like us the Greeks or the Magna Graecia Greeks or the South Italy guys have a different ''temper'' than other people on the North countries.

Irony does not add years of living and does not help the dialogue [dialogue is a Greek word ''διαλογος''].

Common sense:

Sound practical judgment concerning everyday matters, or a basic ability to perceive, understand, and judge that is shared by ("common to") nearly all people.

I suggest learning better English, and ease on the coffee and sugar 😎 Any Spanish and/or Mediterranean temper flare is subject to correction from the moderators.

1) I suggest to learn Arabic, for sure you will need them in the near future for everyday conversations.

2) The days of Colonists have gone from 18th century, you are not talking to some guy who tries to jump the fence there and i am not your room-mate nor your son to accept any arrogance or irony without an answer.

3) I am self-taught in english and yes i am proud for this,i began without any support back in the 80's with books later with the cassette system because my father had to raise a family and there were not spare money for tutorial (in school they teach us French) so when i joined the Army at late 80's my english were ''enough to do the job'' and if i wanted a help i had a small dictionary.

4) My library now is full of books written in english for: Military and Police tactics, guns (pistol-revolver-shotgun-rifle submachine gun),defensive-offensive knife and baton tactics, ammunitions (real and non-lethal) and relatives (flash bang grenades, taser etc).

Also books in english for Military history especially WWII,Martial Sports (kick-boxing,box,judo,jujitsu),Bodyguard training,Sniper techniques,Security Vehicle driving,Explosives (a little bit).

Before i bought my car i was reading UK magazines like Max Power or Fast Car because i knew that i will make modifications in my Felicia due to my small experience in motorcycles,i have the Haynes manual for my Felicia and now with the internet i can read anything i want for example cellphone-laptop reviews, read the description and buy things from amazon.uk or ebay.co.uk or many UK e-stores (for example tools),i can read the manuals, read tests for motor oils-gasoline-tyres and anything had to do with car, watch a War film without subtitles,i can read the latest news in english for example what's happening with LNA-GNA in Libya and i can make friendly conversations with British police officers-UK embassy employees which coming here for Drugs-Customs cases or with tourists which ask for help.

My english are ''enough'' so i am member in 17 english and american forums for my job-hobbies etc so generally speaking i know that my english are not ''Good'' but i don't feel that now as a family man i need to do something more.I have no intentions to write in english a novel or a movie scenario,i don't care to read poetry in english and for sure to make a lecture.

I write in purpose based on Greek syntax and this is not going to change no matter if a random guy thousands of Km away from me does not agree,i know that some times i make spelling mistakes but i am trying to fix this putting ''similar'' words so the other will understand what i want o say to him.

I know that you are not Native Spanish (otherwise you will knew from where the word ''Es Pana'' and ''Eis Pania'' came) and you have absolutely no relation with our Culture but since english is your mother-language can you tell me please: who and from which country named your Island complex and the letters L,S,C,F,W in your alphabet (you have copy them from Latins) from which country originally created?

I know for sure that you can speak english not only like in the Victorian era but even as in Shakespeare's era so you will already know since a kid the answers.

...and now that we make some necessary clarifications trying to prevent future arguments let's get back to our theme which was ''Who vote Yes for Megixt?''...oups sorry (my bad) was for ''Throttle Cleaning'' and i will like to mention that some guys use WD-40 but be careful NOT the Multi Purspose WD-40 with the red cap, there is a specific from this brand,it's the WD-40 Specialist Carb/Throttle Body and Parts Cleaner.

I am saying this because many times i have heard-read that the well-known blue can-red cap WD-40 in extensive use may harm soft plastics as O-Rings,do you have similar experience?

As for the Oil-Catch cans here in Greece call them ''Fume Cans'' ,you can take an idea:

https://www.google.com/search?q=δοχειο+αναθυμιασεων+αυτοκινητου&newwindow=1&client=firefox-b-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj8xMfaw5_nAhXawAIHHZwsAPYQ_AUoAXoECAwQAw&biw=1920&bih=930

and for about 20 years is a point of discussion in forum ''if-when-how-which'' etc especially from the turbo owners, the NA owners don't care so much but will will discuss this in a future post.

Yes indeed, your english are enough😎

You are such an expert that you still believe "common sense" is an insult. The rest of your comments are too delusional and a waste of time for me.

Hi @D.FYLAKTOS.  I can't comment on your query but thought you might like to know that RicardoM is, I believe from other posts, from one of the South American countries.

He generally posts inflammatory remarks so don't take his comments to heart.  Many of us just try to ignore him.

Also your English is very impressive for someone self taught...   Far better than my Greek will ever be!

Good luck sorting things out.

How inflammatory? Like telling somebody to use his common sense when buying a part?

I wonder how my reputation is +956 when "many of you" (according to you) ignore me... By the way, where do you know me from since you have nothing to do with Skoda Classic cars?

Goodnight!

Ricardo is knowledgeable but still very absolute and and persistent to his ideas.
Therefore he can sometimes sound strict or inflammatory, but in all reality hes trying to help.
I hope at least, but "use common sense" does indeed sound like you are being a bit ironic to someone.

You got me right as a person that worked hard to be able to help others. I do it on my time, sometimes without even a thank you. I have repaired a lot of cars. I have a vast library of documents, manuals, photos, schematics, and videos about car repairs. I have shared countless such materials, mostly in this section and in the Classic Guides section.

I am a native from Dominican Republic. I worked in Canada for a prestigious car company that payed me good money. I will start working for SEAT in Madrid. What is important for all of you to know is that I took my Felicia with me wherever I went. That speaks volumes. You don't want to know how much it costs to ship it thousands of km over the ocean...

As for the "use common sense" fake issue, let's see what Cambridge Dictionary says about its meaning. I am amazed how could somebody twist my words based on nothing...

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/common-sense

PS

What other 'benevolent' members said about me had to do with my posts about Brexit. There are some inconvenient things that Britons don't like to accept, although they are based on facts. You know, the history has a way to compensate things from the past. What goes around comes around...

You are well self-taught then, based on being a native English speaker.

I wouldn't take Max Shed and/or Shat Car as tutorials though; there are much better written tuning magazines such as Banzai, Japanese Performance, Performance VW...

It is true without RicardoM this forum would be very much poorer he has helped me out on many times and a lot of others a very knowledgeable person  when it comes to the Skoda Felicia (and maybe others). But his failings are he do's like a good scrap if someone says something he thinks is wrong well he will go in with all guns blazing and 9 times out of 10 he's right.

Ho well that.s buttered him up for my next question when I have one.

There is one thing I am in love with my Felicia from new 21 years ago, whey do you RicardoM think they are so good you must have worked on many other cars over the years and the Felicia well one has trouble giving them away here in UK. I think one day it maybe just like the VW Beetle but at my age I don't think I will be around to see it.

As i said earlier the ''emission'' matter is very controversial here in Greek forums, some say leave it as is some no make some modifications etc. I will post for the ''fumes catch'' in a future post but now i will show you what i have done done to my Felicia.

My decision was DO NOT let the emissions go back to the the throttle body (no matter what some guys say that these lubricate the throttle) because i want the air as mush as possible i can thus i put a small ''emission filter'' as we call it here.

The diameter is 12mm in the back but with a patent i manage to fasten it in the factory hose that i bought from a store from Poland (i have lost mine after so many years) and here is the result.

Yes i know a part of the Heat tape is missing but i promise to you that i will fix this in the future.

The cable on the left of the filter it's from a ''Ground Kit'' that i have made by my self.

I look forward to more info and pictures if at all possible, I have a 1998 Felicia 1.3 and was wondering about the hose to the throttle body if I could run it to a filter.

I the past i have made some simple tests so here some opinions:

-Leave it as is, yes but this will bring some ''dirt'' into the air intake and in my engine

The factory knows better, yes but the factory wants to buy some years later the new model.

-Let the emissions drop down in the asphalt, well that's not ecological.

-Put a cap in the end of the hose, NO WAY because the cap will pop-up from the pressure !

(i know it by personal experience)

-Put a small filter, yes that works but keep in mind that you have to remove it and wash it some day, if you leave it for years some sledge will make your engine bay dirtier.

-Buy a Oil-Catch (as i said we call it here ''Fumes-Can'' but this takes some discussion more...

Well done !

Please inform me for the results when you test it.

Did you choose the place that you are going to put in inside the engine bay?
