Update is possible but it requires unit to have swdownload patched first.

Screen display is P&P, it does NOT affect any active features, but with your current SW button APP will not work.

Hello i gave octavia 2015 with old Mib1 5E….. i bought lcd with pn 5E0919605M from newer octavia -glass touch lcd.

Which unit PN should i get to be possible to code it on that screen with dab and navi? I know that 5q0035874 would fit but is there any cheaper solution or anyone has it for sale?

I don't think that screen is compatible with a MIB1 unit - @pab567 can you confirm?

Please post the full part number of your MIB1 unit - DAB and Nav are NOT just coding!

Yes i know becouse of resolution. Like i said i already bougt this lcd , now need to buy unit- i just want to know which unit would be compatible with screen, i know it s not just coding bit also CP….etc i have guy who will fix al this and install but just need to know which PN for unit should i search to BUY which would be chepest option(skoda,seat,…)

So now you have Amundsen MIB1, with Bluetooth, with DAB, part number 5E0035874A, with USB 5Q0035726B and fortunately you don't have CANTON sound system.

For display unit 5E0919605M you can use either Amundsen MIB2 5Q0035874x / 565035874 or MIB2 Columbus 3V0035020x (without SIM/LTE) or 3V0035021x (with SIM/LTE - in this case you also need to add antennas for LTE).

If you woulkd like to use Apple CarPlay then you also have to replace USB port.

The question is what is your budget and which of listed below features are "must have":

- Video playback from DVD, USB, SD

- CD playback

- displaying OEM maps in Virtual Cluster (Active Info Display).

Both units support SmartLink (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink), rear view camera, voice command. Features that differ them:

- MIB2 Amundsen - OEM navigation, no CD/DVD drive, no video playback from SD/USB, support for displaying OEM maps in Active Info Display (Virtual Cluster)

Hi,the swap is not a straight swap.at the moment you have a display and unit together,if you want to upgrade to colombus or amundsen you need to change the glove box insert to acomodate the new unit,you need a new cable extension and most importantly you will have to deal with component protection and the radio itself can be very expensive,a used unit amundsen coast around 600 euros.plus the insert and work.i would say around 1000 euros for everything.

I have bought a mib2.5 unit 565035021 and also have a 8 inch 5E0919605 display for my 2016 octavia vrs

Will these work together or will I also need a 9.2inch display?

Also does the display cable need changed as I've noticed cable on car is pink and connector on mib2.5 is grey

You need 9.2" display 5E0919606D. Just cut from the pink plug an excessive piecie of plastic that does not allow you to insert it into grey socket.

Hi, I came across a seemingly very good deal on Columbus MIB2.5 565035021C head unit with screen, not sure if its legit yet but before I contact the seller I wanted to be 100% sure it fits my car which is a 2013 (TMBJE7NE6E0060066), also no canton. And if I understand correctly, I would still need a usb port replacement. The seller claims its plug and play, but even if its not, I think 700€ is cheap enough price to get CP removed somewhere else.

Yes,it is plug and play if you already have the unit on the glove box,if not you need an extension from aliexpress,you can also get the USB from aliexpress,maybe 25 euros altogether.i did the same retrofit,i had a swing unit,had to change cables and everything, but it is straightforward.

I’ve recently bought a 2014 Octavia Elegance, VIN is TMBKJ7NE7E0194438 and would like to upgrade to get carplay, not sure if I need to do the amp change too

Read through your old posts and believe I’ve got a MIB1 Amundsen, and would like to upgrade to MIB2 Amundsen (or Bolero not too sure on the differences) I know for carplay I also need to upgrade the usb port too

You have to replace both glove box unit and display. Glove box unit must be reworked - patched for Component Protection and activations. It must also have coding and adaptation adjusted to match your car equipment.

If you would like to use Apple CarPlay then you also have to replace USB port.
