  • @nori you have Amundsen MIB2 MY16, non-DAB. You can use any of screens you mentioned (3V0919606, 3V0919605D), they are P&P, just note in case of 3V0919605D you will get a little space between the

Thanks. Connector mod won’t be difficult.

I have the same unit on my vrs.

I would just like to have a bigger screen. What are my options? Can I change FL version screen?

Can I just plug a new screen and no need for CP coding? Only the plug mod, right?

That’s correct, 5E0919605N is the part number you need, there will be a small connector mod but nothing that 2 mins with a craft knife wouldn’t fix.

Thanks.
It worked perfectly and didn’t even had to mod any connectors.

Hello from Sweden,

So, I have a 2015 Octavia vRS with Mib1 Bolero. I'd like to be able to fit one of the bigger screens and need to upgrade to a Mib2 if I've understood it correctly?

I want to be able to use Android Auto, but don't mind if there's onboard navigation as well. I might add that I have Canton speakers/sub.

What are my options, what should I go for?

If you want a larger screen you need a MIB2 and you need a new amp for the CANTON system that is CP free and MIB2 compatible so that’s the biggest issue, the rest of it is standard MIB swap stuff.

So besides the new screen and the Mib2 unit, I need an additional amp as well? Starting to sound expensive 😅

You know where I can get one?

Correct, eBay is a good place to start 81A035223 is the part number.

Aight, thank you. So that just added 300EUR to the sum.. Do you know if it's plug and play with the cables from the gen1?

As far as I’m aware it is, but please check with a radio installer for this as the CP will also need removing from the amp.

Hello all,

can anyone tell me if I need a radio code if I remove and refit the main unit ( and screen )from the glove box of a 2016 Columbus in a superb L&k please.

I am intending to fit an adaptiv mini unit to enable an HDMI input onto the 8” screen, but this will require me to undo the lvds and quad lock hence dropping connectivity and power to the system. Am hoping that as the system will have CP it should all recognise the relevant components when put back together?

Any help greatly appreciated!

thanks

I unplugged mine on my octy a few times and never had an issue. You get an error code when scanning with vcds but it doesn't stop anything from working.

For over 15 years now VAG infotainment systems have remembered the VIN of the vehicle they are first fitted to, and if they are refitted to the same vehicle they don't ask for a PIN code.

Thanks Guys, was hoping this was the case.

thanks for the help, I’ll post how I get on.

stay safe all.

Hi All!

With the latest firmware version mib 2.5 (565035021E) in the Octavia 2017 fl model, it always crashes via BT with iPhone 11 Pro Max (iOs 13.4.1). The call stays there on the infotainment display and I can only do anything else if I turn off BT on the phone. In the case of Carplay, everything is perfect and error-free! What could be the problem?

Thanks!

Hi Beniben,

im no expert in the computer stakes, however, I would check that the iPhone firmware  is up to date, and if possible also try another iPhone type if a friend or colleague has one, see if it affects both of the iPhones, or just yours.

It may be a bug that has slipped through the Skoda firmware net, but by trying the tests above, it should give you an indication if the fault is with the phone, or the MIB2.5 firmware update.

If it is the firmware, you could then post details back to Skoda who will hopefully drop a patch out on the website to deal with it.

Hope this is some help.

Hi All,

I am about to tray and take out the Columbus head unit in the 2016 superb, now I am guessing that I need to remove the trim from the front of the unit surrounding the screen, but am not sure, hence my question.

What is the best way to remove the Columbus from the dash, I have 4 x Becker radio keys for the job, so just need some pointers if someone has done it before please.

thanks in advance

Thanks a lot! I would to test with my wife’s iPhone 7!

@Mmutley on the Octavia there are slots (4 of them) in the screen to put the keys and it come right out. Same for the main unit (2 this time).

Thanks MarkyG82,

managed to pop the trim off from the front of the Columbus and hey presto 4 key slots.

spot on , thanks.

now have the unit out.

With both Phone (iPh7 & iPh11pm) also was perfect...

🙈🤓👍

Hi

I have the latest firmware in my 2017 superb SEL (Updated 2 months ago due to a problem playing music from SD) and can confirm that my iPhone X works fine via Bluetooth and CarPlay though I normally use CarPlay I have occasionally forgotten to connect it and received calls OK.

i will try it tomorrow via Bluetooth as I recently went to IOS 13 now Apple have finally sorted out the bugs and let you know if it’s problematic.

Cheers

Good evening boys and girls,

hoping that someone can shed some light on things for me.

I am trying to find out what antenna feeds the Superb Mk3 L&K with Columbus sat nav has , the car is fitted with the sat nav, 8” screen, 2 SD card slots in the glove box, but no SIM card slot.

My suspicion is that the mini shark fin probably has GPS, and possibly FM radio with phantom power feed ? but not sure, I’ve not had a dig about under the headlining yet, so don’t even know how may feeds come off the antenna as yet.

Any insight greatly appreciated.

many thanks
