Switch of internal monitoring permanently

Featured Replies

I have a Fabia SE 2019 model.  I have a dog and wish to switch of the internal monitoring  permanently.  How do I do this?

That’s very considerate of you, not wanting the alarm to go off when someone smashes your window to get the dog out.

That is not at all helpful.  You have no idea of my circumstances and why I need it off all the time.  I'm surprised that you have the position of Honorary.  You should be ashamed of yourself. I certainly won't be staying on this Forum!

I would ask my Skoda garage/dealer.

Thank you.  I have asked my dealer and no answer coming back.  They keep saying they will get back to me.

@Maudie1942 - I'm not sure if this can be done as a coding, or if there's anyone in/near Glenlivet with VCDS. However, most VAG factory or dealer fit alarms disable the volumetric (which is what you want) and vibration sensors if you lock the car using the key blade rather than the plip.

On the other, related, point it is illegal to leave an animal locked in a motor vehicle, even with a window "open".

Or by pressing the lock button twice.

Unless something has changed recently, It's not illegal (in the UK) but you can obviously be prosecuted if any harm comes to the animal from leaving it unattended in a car regardless of window situation which is very likely on a hot day as temperatures rise quickly.

Thank you for the info, I will try it.

I live in an extremely rural part of Scotland.  I need to drop things off to people in the area and leave the dog in car - with windows wide open - she gets distressed if the alarm goes off.  I never leave my dog in the car for long periods.  If going for hospital appointment etc I leave her with a neighbour for the day.  Thank you for your concern.

Forgive the stupid question, why bother locking it anyway?

It locks itself.  Also no key access on outside of door.

As above, look up 'Safelock'. Double pressing the lock on the key turns off the alarm.

Thank you.  I will check the Handbook for that.

Of course, sorry. Wasn't thinking of a Keyless system.

Turns off interior monitoring and deadlocks, but the alarm remains active on door opening.

Sure thing - I was going off the OP's query of 'Switch off internal monitoring...'. Good to know it doesn't disable door opening alarms though.

@Maudie1942

Welcome to the forum, some of us are here for the banter.

If you are asking Skoda Aberdeen / John Clark they should be ashamed.

If you asked Victoria Garage Maud i would be surprised if you got no answer.

I would recommend them if you ever need work done.

i stayed beside the Minmor House Hotel for a while,

I was wondering that too. Not least because I would expect to be able to leave the keys in the ignition, and find the car where I left it.

The place is hoachin with international travellers.

'Snow Road' / best driving / biking roads in Scotland and the Whisky trail, and all kinds of dodgy locals.....

You need to bulk buy your butteries or rowies just incase the bakery is closed in the afternoon..

When we lost our shops and post office,  now thankfully have PO back with reduced hours  Bus on a Tuesday and Thursday that gives you about an hour and half before the return journey and reduced road clearing and gritting in the winter when we often have deep snow.  Holidaying here is fine but to live here is getting more difficult due to the cuts by Moray Council.  Toilets are going to be closed next year as will libraries throughout Moray, unless communities try to run them.  Social Care access is becoming much more difficult.  If you can't afford to drive or health stops you, life is very difficult.    No - not Aberdeen - Inverness.  Might try Maud garage if the Safelock doesn't work.

I use to have to use a Nokia to get any reception,  times were hard.

I don't have a mobile reception and Broadband is about a 1mbps download and upload is about 0.3.

My experience is that rowies are sold out by about 11AM anyway.

Yes double locked in my car and the windows closed.

Animals should be left outside anyway getting fresh air and not scoffing the survival food.

Nearest bakery is now about 35 miles away in Elgin or Keith.
