Cybertruck!

Featured Replies

What's Elon been smoking to come up with this design that looks like a schoolboys drawing of truck from a 80's cheap Sci-Fi film. 😮

I quite like Teslas designs, they look sleek and sexy...then they released this yesterday....

What the heck????

Franz von Holzhausen was probably busy putting finishing touches to the Model Y when this was on the drawing board.

At least they didn't put a sports car name on an uninspiring bland SUV. ;)

The launch didn't exactly go to plan Tesla's new Cybertruck smashed during demo

I'm not convinced that was a surprise to Tesla or Musk. It turned out to be quite a stark backdrop to his talk and has put it all over the non-car press today.

There's no way that hasn't been tested to death before the reveal. And afterwards, they were giving rides to 'influencers' 🤮 and Youtubers and both windows had already been replaced .

I hope those things never make it across the Atlantic, our roads and parking spaces are crammed enough as it is.

I quite like the look actually.

Still don't want one though.

Well, design-wise, the aesthetics are a step in the right direction... only one, mind. It's a bit like a blank canvas, needing more features, detail and internal 80s flashy lights and stuff.

It needs a lot more work before I'd buy it, but this is the frst Tesla by which I'm not wholly repulsed...

I might eventually consider buying a much-improved one if it meets the above criteria, and if Elon were to suddenly stop being a complete bellend.

Oh, and yes, improvements include fixing the glass!! :D

At least the cardboard body panels would be easy to replace. Not sure about designed by CAD just a case of ruler and pencil. Aston Martin Lagonda inspired, should be popular in the Middle East then if they make it expensive enough.

I was thinking more Hustler kit cat

I saw a Holden Commodore today, and that thing looks like it was designed ON a Commodore... (64)

Its one of those designs that is unusual enough that people will buy it just "to be different".

As to the glass breaking.... yeah, id say that may have been a bit of tongue in cheek pish taking of other grand reveal disasters, like Bill Gates getting BSOD errors during Windows demos etc...

LOL I nearly pee'd me pants laughing at Aussie John Cadogan's review of it  😁

Might have a low speed camera radar reflection profile, what you'd save on fines wouldn't make up for kids pointing and laughing though...

Personally I think it was all a publicity stunt and the 'real' cybertruck will be revealed shortly...

**** take.

Yes I expected the body panels to fall away to reveal the real truck underneath or something.

The Rivian looks great and has some neat use of tech.
That thing below it is a crappy Defender clone.

The Bollinger truck is also crazy expensive, so not really a contender in the mass market truck space in my opinion, much more a rich boy's play thing.

Perhaps that is a market Tesla is after with the Mad Max truck.

Cybertruck is going to be priced similarly to the 3 and Y, so very much mass market.
They want to steal sales from the F150

I meant the "toy truck" market. I don't see many in the construction or agricultural industries buying these for instance, the looks are too "marmite". However I see the appeal of virtually dent proof panels and no paint to scratch.

Tesla claims 150000 pre-orders already, so WTF do I know? 😲
