What is standard on the SEL Fabia?

Featured Replies

This may seem  like  a bizarre posting. I have a 17 plate Fabia SEL 110 and I am genuinely puzzled  whether the following two items were standard on the SEL for June 2017. The first is rear reading lights. I looked up the handbook but that lists masses of stuff across the range, it doesnt mean I have the particular item mores the pity. I read what it said and tried to get the lights to operate as per the handbook  but they didnt come on. I looked inside and cant see anything wrong and tried the fuses and they were OK too. If I havent got rear reading lights then I must have  ordinary  rear  interior lights  but they dont come on when I open a back door and  that is very  strange. I must have one or the other unless they have been deliberately disabled by the first owner and I cant think of any reason why they would do that.. Did June 2017 Fabia SELs have rear reading lights as standard? i would have thought the SEL spec would have run to them as standard but who knows?  I went on Parkers and other guides but none of them answered the question. It isnt worth it to ask the dealer or Skoda customer services as its thirty two months since the first reg and I dont think either of them would know after such a time lag.

I have exactly  the same question about the heated front  seats.  I would have thought they were standard on SEL spec but there are no switches where they should be to operate them according to the handbook.  So unless the previous owner has changed things so they operate automatically in cooler weather the feature isnt present. It cant even be that modification because I would have thought    they would have come on in the temperatures we we have been getting, 3 or 4 degrees C.

I really  would have hoped that the SEL spec would have run to those two items as standard. Neither would have   cost that much to install when the car was being built  and SEL is a high spec after all, higher than S and SE and a little lower than a Monte Carlo.  If they are not standard so be it but it seems penny pinching.

As always thanks in advance to Briskodians who read this and who respond to it.

The rear interior lights can be turned off, like the front one.

See page 66:-

Heated seats not standard on Fabia III 2017.

Thanks AG Falco

Heated seats are definitely a paid extra on the Fabia. I bought them on my second Fabia cos my old bum gets cold.
